No, not really, first introduction to BF2042 I heard that DICE was way a head. It sounded like the game was almost finished... That was a few monthes ago!

So I thought, why not, try this game. I am not much for the WW2 settings but there wore something else in 2042.

So much not yet, but BF4 was also pretty broken.

Also, DICE tells every BF it would be all totally super and ready... that's why you play the open beta first, there you see what you will get. And yes even there DICE tells every time the beta is already months old and DICE is already much further. But like every time that never corresponds to the truth and the release you get every time exactly what you had in the beta. But... the BF4 beta ran much better than the BF4 release version.

I'm just wondering how DICE managed to screw it all up. They had several teams, an incredible number of developers, but the management was not able to direct their manpower properly.

The base, the technical foundation of the game worked for years. But suddenly in BF 2042 everything that worked in BF4,1,V is broken? How can that be?

The maps... I like big maps, and no it's not because of the size of the maps in BF 2042. The map design is not good, they are two dimensional maps. Whoever has been doing the maps since BF1... they should get another job, they simply not able to do it. This is now the third BF with such bad maps, only this time spread over a larger area, and yes with the size the bad craft is even more noticeable.

No one needs to come up with Covid as an excuse. Software development works very well in the home office. There are enough studios that work almost entirely from home, and that was the case long before Covid.

But if you give BF 2042 some time, it can still become something. But not in the next 6 months....
