Windows 7 is not supported anymore by Microsoft and it says Windows 10 minimum.
Not very difficult to understand.

I think that @Bongybo understands this perfectly well.
But it is not everybody who is so fortunate to have whatever money is needed to buy the latest and greatest gaming spec PC available. So certain and very understandable that many players first will try to see if their old PC will still suffice to be able to join the beta fun next week with the rest of us. All while they still have enough money to feed themselves and their kids, pay the rent and the bus ticket to get to school or the job, etc...

That would make the choice to do so pretty straight forward then! 👍
I wrongly thought that the free upgrade offer from Microsoft had long since expired, but there are maybe still some way to do this for free?
Here from MSFT's own Win7 page:

@CyberDymeMicrosoft said the upgrade only was possible for a year (until 2016), but they actually didn't enforce it (not yet at least).
I have personally upgraded Windows 7 PCs, many times since 2016 (both "in private" and in my daytime job).I think the last time I did it, was just a month ago.
