@Airstriker97BF has never had a Clan system, those are private groups of gamers. They did have a Platoon system for one game, I think it was 4, where you could make a platoon logo, geez might have been 3. It’s been a while. I’ve been with ATF for 14 years this year. I’m not sure that EA or Dice realizes that it’s still a thing, although to be honest I think the glory days are over. Gaming has moved on, I’m not sure if they were a thing with consoles but definitely was for PC. BF divisions, COD divisions, Apex… lots of games lend themselves to larger groups. Ours always had at least two servers going, and there are still clan servers in 4 as you could rent them and do your own admin. Man that was fun. I’d love to see that come back, but without server browsers and ideally rentable servers, it can’t happen.
I have played on other clan servers, my clan's and yes ATF's servers (good group of guys btw) for years and it was a far superior system for community building than any of the current alternatives. A properly administrated server clears out all the jackasses, griefers and cheaters, something that can't be done currently.
Due to this fact, player retention was a lot higher in older titles as well as the overall gaming experience. I hated playing on public servers then, and I hate being forced into it now.
I would really like to see the rental servers return, with of course a server browser so I can favorite good servers and avoid the "badmin" servers like before.

MM has destroyed the BF community.
Like you I would welcome the return of rental servers it was fun being able to join your favourite server every day and stay on it all day if you wanted.
Now we spend so much time in lobbies and playing on anonymous servers it's nothing like what it used to be and a definite retrograde step,
