BF2042 developers post individually on Twitter/Reddit on fixing of beta bugs
We are still to see the official response from EA/DICE on their list of reported bugs and what they are going to do about them.
So due to this untimely vacuum of information from EA then some of their developers have now started to post private messages both on Twitter and also on Reddit, with their own comments on reported bugs and what they are doing about some of them.
Here a quick summary of some of the online chatter from the Dev team:
Btw, it appears legit that some Devs points out that several of the Beta shortcomings (bugs/missing functionality) were know in advance by them, so really also mindboggling why this info was not shared ahead of time of the Beta, as they indicate that several of the issues/bugs we reported on, were known and also worked on by the EA/DICE team even before we got the Beta testing in our hands. That is normally done through a list of know issues released with the beta application to their players. But as we all know, EA did none of that...
But here now info from some of the developers on what they have been fixing since the Beta version we played on:
- Weapons and vehicle configuration menu will be added, so you also can do it before joining a match. So we have like predefined loadouts and need not to waste time on this when getting into the game round play. So sounds like we will get it as we had back in aka BF4...
- Number of tanks on the Orbital map will be doubled for the launch. So 8 tanks in total and not just 4 as we had for the beta.
- The show-map-function is going to be reintroduced for the game launch.
- Strafe sliding will be added to the soldier movements again as we had in previous BF games but not in Beta where we only could move straight.
- They will add the option for us to climb/vault with our soldier onto moving objects, which appeared blocked in the Beta.
- Vehicle enter and exit animations will either be drastically shortened or completed removed.
- They are working on optimizing the framerate when aiming down sight, as during beta FPS dropped to the floor when ADS especially with high scopes...
- Bunny jumping while gun spamming will be nerfed.
- The revive function and animation is getting fixed, as it took way too long in the Beta.
- Personally I do not know exactly why, but they say that they will increase the frequency/probability of the tornado animation on the Orbital map? I maybe had it in 1/3 of all my beta games and thought that was basically ok. Didn't see anybody complaining about too few tornados in the beta feedback either, so not sure why they now want to tinker with this.
- The elevator bug will get fixed before the launch.
- Breakthrough gamemode now confirmed to cater to the full 128 player game mode, including even on the smaller maps for this. So going to be very tense with so many players in such small area. But lets see how such meat grinder will play out for us when the game launches. 😎
So some good news at least, though still a lot has still been left answered to, even of the absolute most fundamental that was missing in the Beta.
Soldier progression?
Weapon and vehicle unlocks?
The last missing Specialists and their gadgets?
And then we await the official EA response to the Beta bug reporting and feedback we provided to them. There was literally many hundreds of sever bugs reported to them, so quite some work ahead to get that cleaned up. 👍
Btw, join the official Battlefield Discord group if not already a member. Also several developers interact there, so a good place to get insights and share observations/opinions:
