Bf2042 free to play
Over the last few days I’ve seen news that this game will become a Free to Play, is this true ? I hope not after spending a lot of money on this game. Hopefully they can fix the problems the game h...

I agree... they sold us a game, and because it doesn't work, they're going to rub it in, by giving it to everyone else for free...
I dont think BF2042 is going to be free to play. Hazard Zone or Portal is probably most likely.
If they want the most players I would probably go for the portal.
If it goes free you dont get a refund you will get a Boris Santa Skin for free.
- @Doomshot88 That's not how gaming works. Many MMOs were originally buy to play and later went F2P and nobody got refunds when this happened. Caveat emptor.
@ragnarok013 You are right and wrong. This games went f2p after years and not after a few months. To sell a game full price and go free after a few months is close to be criminal.
People has bought season passes and EA/Dice are obligated to give people something for the money, otherwise this will be illegal (in most countries I would think).

If 42 goes F2P this short after launch you can basicaly call it a scam / beeing robbed.
But i highly doubt that this game goes really F2P, the backlash would be to extreme, even for EA.

Also the rumor (let's not forget that is all 2042 going F2P is at this point) isn't that the entire game will go F2P, it's that part of it will go F2P. This rumor lines up with last quarter's EA Earning's call where Andrew Wilson stated that there is a F2P component planned for 2042 in the future. If the game isn't doing well it is possible that they'll pause development of the planned F2P portion and try making another existing portion like Portal or HZ F2P to test the waters. I sincerely hope that 2042 does not go F2P because I'm not a fan of unlimited free testing accounts for those who make illicit software.
- @ragnarok013 Some countries consumer protection laws have sections about this particular circumstance. Doesn't look good when you have a game with a lot of known issues with a lot of silence about fixing them, then they turn around and go F2P. They never fixed the game people paid for before making the value drop to zero.
