Is it just me, or is there no option to change or choose the team in my custom matches? The problem is: I want to play for the Russian team sometimes, but I ALWAYS play for the US team... I've tried using Portal mode to reverse (RU: team 1; US: team 2) but I still start in US...

ok... 2 years later I found out. You can't choose your side of the match... BUT, if the next round is on the same map and you wait for the match to start automatically, you're playing on the other team this time. Example: You created a private game in portal mode with only one map, Caspian Boarder. You will play the first match on the US team, when that match ends, wait a few moments until it starts again and you will be on the Russian team.

There is definitely no option to chose/change your team/faction before or in a match. This is definitely a problem, there should be a choice of team or at least a random chance of witch team/faction you start as. As stated this is a problem in Portal and All-out war solo/co-op conquest.
(As a side note: All-out war solo/co-op breakthrough you are always put in the attaching team, which is map dependent, thus you will never play as the defending team)
Give us an option to chose/change our team please!

Checks out, I couldn't find the option anywhere. Was trying to test something with a friend in a Portal server, no dice.

@leoetc They probably won't and it's intentional probably Because in Battlefield V It was hard to switch teams too. I was done on purpose.

Battlefield 4 a lot of people would switch but then you would have the autoadmin switch you back over.

No, only for TDM and FFA, which makes it pretty useless. As far as I'm concerned, EA just want allow us to create "crazy game modes".
In a nutshell... the rule editor alters sides, scores, win conditions, teleport, inventory, ui messages and some other basic stuff. You can do stuff like reload only whith jumping or decreasing ammo while not moving etc. But I don't see anything substantial coming out of this in it's current state. But I also lost fun playing with it, because TDM with bots plays not good. AI needs an objective and mostly they just walk towards the map center in a crowd.
I was hoping to have the abilities to create at least objectives like "hijack a helicopter" for coop and set this as a win condition, but it doesn't look like this is possible. At least in TDM there also don't spawn vehicles.
So to me it looks like the most creative stuff EA and Dice think we are capable of, is what they have shown in the trailers. medics vs melee or one tank vs robo dogs.
Disclaimer: I am not experienced with this kind of "scripting" and there's a chance, that I don't see the whole package of the rule editor.

We also need 128 players conquest large maps for AOW Solo/Coop aswell...
We can't play the full experience.
