BFV vs BF2042 road to release.

Battlefield 2042 delayed to November the 19th | Page 10 | ResetEra 3rd last post, tried to link it direct but doesn't work lol seems I lost my tech knowledge hehe.

Almost nothing on the BF2042 timeline vs where BFV was at and that didn't launch with all features shown either. I wouldn't be shocked if this is put back to 2022 ☹️. Either A) its really not ready and they don't want another Halo meme going or B) I don't know what else it could be maybe 4D chess PR?

Has any other AAA MP well no any AAA game been this secret about a game launching in a few months?

  • @1Hairy-Gorilla Already saw that graphic on Twitter.

    It is misleading since it does not include the technical playtest or the week long story elements that were developed and released and I am sure there is more missing there as welll…

    Besides, why compare anything to Battlefield V? As far as I am concerned the further from that game we can get, the better…

    @infantrypeasant  Havn't pre-ordered a game in years lol Last gen and this one is better to wait. Are they going to run out of keys that you need to pre-order? I get it back in the day with carts 🙂

    @carsono311  found the og on Reddit his reason was because BFV alpha was open and a test, BF2042 was closed NDA and to test crossplay thier words so meh.

    "Do keep in mind that the Technical Playtest is purposefully not intended to be the full experience you will see in the Open Beta, or at launch. It is a development-led environment with only a subset of features, focused on technical performance.

    We are still building cross-play functionality, and the first opportunity for us to test it with a wider, invite-only group will be within the Technical Playtest." BF2042

    "Our tests can be divided into two main categories: gameplay and technical. Under the gameplay umbrella, you’ll find areas like the balancing of maps, weapons, and vehicles to make sure that Battlefield V matches are fair, entertaining, and rewarding to skilled players. Finally, we’re also curious to see how Closed Alpha participants will react to the new attrition and immersion systems. Put clearly, how can we reach a sweet spot when it comes to limited ammo and health? How do we make the revive system and more physical move set as good as possible?" BFV

    I am guessing the absolute disasterpiece that was BF5's marketing has lead them to be overly cautious on what they say and do. Wouldn't surprise me if EA themselves has put a gag on them after the mess they made of it last time.

    That being said it also wouldn't surprise me if Dice Sweden has the arrogance to think the game will be a success based on the Battlefield name alone, even with its tarnished reputation after Battlefield 5

    @1Hairy-GorillaClearly the development and communication of it could be infinitely better with this game, no argument there.

    I was also disappointed that there were not more testing opportunities as in previous games, but for all the testing that Battlefield V had, (and I was fortunate to participate in most of it) they still did not fix issues that I and many others were pointing out from the Alphas and Betas… and that game turned out as it did…

    @Noodlesocks Completely agree.
