We the united community of Battlefield enthusiast wants demands 5-man squads implemented in the upcoming BF2042 or at least the option to link two squads into a 8-man squad!
I dont get the premise as to 64-man teams can be only divided by 4 and we dont want to leave players outside of squads or not able to squad up.
The game promotes choices, sandbox-playstyle and huge intense battles.
Why have we to be restricted to tiny 4-man squads which leaves clan-mates out?

@DeeCay_DK_81 I'd like to see 8 man squads.
I'd say add platoons (4 squads per platoon with platoon leaders), but I think they need at least 256 players like MAG had for that.

I'm curious to see if they keep the acquisitions system from Battlefield V. If they did that, I could see Platoon Leaders being able to call in assets that would be stronger than what a Squad Leader can call in while also being able to direct troops; kind of like a commander in BF4 except in the field.
8 player squads I think would be good move though; it would certainly make the larger lobbies more manageable instead of having a wave of smaller squads running about. You mentioned PlanetSide as well, which if they wanted to nab the Fireteam mechanic so you could split an 8 man squad into 2 elements of 4, that could be done easier as well. Fireteam leader would most likely just be able to choose objectives or have squad members spawn on them.
