@Pantleon Eh you can literally jump out of a chopper and most do, so that makes map design completely irrelevant
You can jump out of a chopper once and then when she lands her mobility is gone. On Discarded and Manifest she can glide from high ground to high ground pretty much none stop without ever having to walk.
The only situation to use sundance on low verticality maps is to place a beacon from a chopper or a skyscraper, but once the beacon is in place theres no point in keeping on playing her. Next spawn you can go Angel and get your gadget slot back (free beacon).

Like you say you can die, spawn back in the condor\hind (if its alive or its high enough up). If you are going to the same spot you were just in, why would you do this? You pretty much just use up a specialist ability for something you can do with a beacon.
Or if the pilot just flys over where you want to go anyways you can jump out with any specialist to the same effect.
I don't see Sundance as a good pick unless you can make use of her mobility.
