Bought but refunded

Yesterday I bought 2042. Tested it with EA Play at launch and didn't enjoy that level of insult so within a week I just gave up and didn't resub or buy the game. Haven't really thought about EA since

So while downloading it yesterday (at like 30% of my download capacity, guess EA can't afford proper servers?), I was watching videos and doing the research of all the updates and what I had missed. Then one came up, pointing out that they sometimes spent minutes in queues just to be thrown into a server with no active game running. So at 80% of the game downloaded I cancelled that and refunded the game.

If you want me to give you money EA, the very least, literally the VERY least I demand from you is that you respect my time. This means a FUNCTIONAL server browser, nothing more, nothing less. Battlelog was a failure yes, I completely agree, it's why I don't play BF3 or 4, got tired of joining servers claiming 62/64 that turned out to be empty (how you never fixed that is an insult to the human spirit, you're so damn lazy). Battlefield 1 however does fine with it's server browser. One could argue server browsers are the main reason your old games are doing better than 2042, even with them still (somehow? [Edit - Admin.] are you people lazy!) missing 50% of the most basic of basic features.

  • Smart move. I'm going to explore charging back this game through my credit card provider as well. This is BS with the aircraft changes lately.

No server browser, overpowered aircraft, bullet spread. You missed nothing. good luck in your game search.

    CDNAngrypeng...

DICE/EA consider a charge back as fraud and will freeze your account. Be careful.

To this day, I cannot believe that a developer or group of developers thought that adding spread to the weapons was a good idea and considered a QoL update.

@Gremmel You actually had to go to show more info on Battlelog to see if the server was full or not for Bf3 or 4.

@CDNAngryPenguin be careful with that other people tried that at launch and EA nuked their entire accounts due to fraudulent activity. meaning they got banned and every game they owned on the EA App was lost to them

@AdamonicMost likely corporate decision made to attract more crowds or to stop people "But I shot him 100 times and he killed me in 2 shots" from complaining.

They continually try to make the game more noob friendly, take any skill out of the game. At this point, they should just make everyone bots and you can only spectate as your bot is running around the map.

@Adamonic Problem is that it doesn't work. Adding spread or "randomness" works both ways. Only difference is that good players will find a way around it.

The other way Dice have been adding "crutches" for bottom % of players is by adding some obnoxious way they can kill people without receiving fire.

BF1 - Ilya bomber that can wipe out 20 people simultaneously. Elite pickups? Mortar trucks?

BF5 - MMGs. It was actually insane how many campers were in that game just sitting the whole game with trash visibility and no spotting in some dark corner and waiting for someone to run by. Also AAs. In that games, AAs were stupidly powerful. Nothing we had before or since.

2042 - Rail tank and gun. Now they turned LMGs into MMgs since using them on the go is just bad. But bipotting in a corner is too easy.

And an abundance of "AI" controlled gadgets (That thankfully were removed/nerfed) doesn't make life any easier for a normal player who wants to kill people in a fair gunfight.
