@AdamonicYeah, the maps are way to big for conquest, which is my main reason for not playing it at all.
But Frontlines i really missed that one, i played it a lot in BF1.
And i think aswell, that it could work on BF2042.
All hopes is that they are doing what they said in yesterdays stream, that the new map in season 2 is way more compact with more cover, then it's gonna be good.

Frontlines was only fun if there were two teams on the server willing to aggressively go after the objectives. In my experience this did not occur very often as most matches were just as one sided as any other BF game mode.
128 player Breakthrough should have never been removed. It is the other half of the "All Out War" experience that is now unfortunately missing from the game.
Every game mode in Battlefield could benefit from a more coordinated style of play, but without a real ranked area and platoons that value playing this way. It is never going to happen in this series.

The problem DICE have is that player numbers are nowhere near where they'd like them. Adding new game modes, like we used to get in previous games, isn't worth it as it spreads a thin player base even thinner.
That's what Portal was supposed to take care of, but without rent a server, hardly any games are ever available.
I like Breakthrough, but I've been enjoying a lot of Conquest lately. For 2042 those are the two main modes we'll have and that's it.
The days of Domination, squad conquest, frontlines, grind, fortress, etc are gone for now.

It's odd DICE removes game modes like team deathmatch and rush because they spread the player base too thin which leads to long matchmaking times.
Then DICE proceeds to add 4 separate playlists to conquest, which also spreads the player base thin and causes long matchmaking times.
The irony!
