After coming back from a hiatus, the lack of 128 player breakthrough more or less just kills the game for me, especially the fact that the PVE breakthrough mode also became 64 players only.
The only real draw I had to this game at the start was the total chaos generated in 128 player breakthrough, and now with the smaller playercounts, its just not there.
Running for a few minutes to randomly bump into a single person or nobody at all on these titanic maps is just not fun. If I wanted a walking simulator I would play Arma, but even there you can get into larger firefights currently.
Look I get it that folks wanted 64 player matches, but as others have highlighted already, there is no reason both player counts could have not existed together. Both modes should be available for those who want to play it, at least for the PVE mode. Its only bots after all in the PVE mode to boot, its not like player count is a issue there.
I've noticed the pilots and tankers that used to play 128 player breakthrough are damn near immortal in the 64 player version since they're used to having to deal with so much more AA/AV.

I think we are playing 2 different games because whenever I play, tanks get decimated almost instantly with all the TV missile spam.
Since they introduced the TV missile, land vehicles are almost useless.- Ironhead8413 years agoHero
I agree, I can't even remember the last time I was killed by a tank.
I would say about 50-65% or better of my deaths are due to a Hind or Condor, nothing else even comes close.
I don't even bother getting in a tank or a wildcat since they're basically a deathtrap unless you're camping in one in your base.
Battlefield 2042 at this point is infantry vs. infantry vs. Hind/Condors.

Yeah I agree, and ever since the last couple of updates it's harder to take them down,
I actively try to counter them but I die a lot in the process. ☹️
- 3 years ago@D3struction Since people use TV missiles now, I started running a repair tool for my tank. The T28 with heat rounds has about the same killing potential as the Hind if not more on Exposure. You have to play hyper aggressive on the first stage though to prevent the defenders from setting up a proper defense. Once you learn how to properly push that first stage, it becomes a mopping up exercise. I know folks complain about Sundance scatter grenades, but they don't know true hell until they've had to encounter a T28 in the tunnels massacring folks.

I dont know man, I think it heavily depends on the kind of players you play against. Sometimes you play against people that won't let you drive/fly.
For example, sometimes I start a game in a tank and literally as soon as the game starts I have TV missiles whistling in my direction and I get destroyed very fast even with a squad mate repairing.
It can also be a similar experience for choppers, it really depends on Rao's mood that day. If Rao is angry you won't fly effectively at all, you'll be running away as soon as you get close.
