It's not only OneDrive, it could be any cloud service syncing the "Documents" folder whilst online. I had the same issue and fixed it with MEGA cloud.

Excluding folders in Onedrive isn't that simple though.
If you exclude a folder like I have done in the attached, that only tells OneDrive to not copy the contents from the cloud to your local PC.
Unfortunately it doesn't work the other way round due to the Backup feature that Onedrive has implemented.

So what you end up with is a "cloud" copy of the folder, and one on your local PC, which causes a conflict.
I'm surprised there isn't an easier way to tell Origin/EA Play to store the contents elsewhere, because the Documents folder really shouldn't be used for all that data. As others have mentioned, it should be placed in AppData.

I have the same problem. The suggested solution to sync to "appdata" wouldn't really help me, since that partition is only big enough for windows and programs except games, not huge amounts of cache. For me, the game folder would be a good place. However, we should be able to choose.

Just getting ridiculous. Had shut down my PC immediately after a game last night, then when I started it up this morning for work OneDrive needed to do a half GB upload. Utterly tedious.
