Can I delete Easy Anti-Cheat Now?
Now that the PC community has a new EA branded anti-cheat (Lord help us) can I / we uninstall Easy Anti-Cheat? Doesn't run on game start up anymore, or seem active in any way. Can we trash it?

Should have automatically been deleted with the rollout of the new EA anti-cheat. I don't see the EAC process running on my PC anymore and I did not manually uninstall anything.
Removing Easy Anti Cheat* makes no sense to me, because it doesn't work anyway since the creators gave up on it. You can try to remove it from the control panel, but if everything works for you, don't bother, because the operation of uninstalling EAC may bring other negative consequences, such as an error in starting the game.

- @KunstulaIt’s still listed in services, I noticed as I hard close the EA App Background Service that runs even after quitting the game. EA won’t explain what it is so I manually disable Background Services when I’m not playing.
@DMGG1994, I’m taking about deleting Easy AntiCheat, the program bundled with 2042 on release. When S6 rolled out, they added a new EA AntiCheat, so I’m talking about the old program not the new one. You can’t disable or delete the new one, I’m sure you couldn’t play with the AntiCheat disabled. @ATFGunr a so-called literary error crept into my post. Thank you for pointing out that I meant Easy Anti Cheat. I edited the previous post
For me, removing the old anti cheat called Easy Anti Cheat makes no sense, since the game doesn't use it anyway, the computer is not loaded with an anti cheat other than the one currently used in the game, and even if the service is started Easy Anti Cheat will load maybe 1% of its processor because Easy Anti Cheat will be unused.
There are other games that use Easy Anti Cheat, if you remove it, you may have problems installing it in the future (low probability, but I have already had several situations where the software had problems with reinstalling due to some strange error)
This is my personal opinion, everyone will decide individually according to their vision. If you do not use games that use Easy Anti Cheat and you believe that uninstalling EAC will not cause problems with running BF2042, even though the game does not use it, then feel free to remove it
I am a person who likes to see everything in black and I like to caw, so make your own decision :D and if you uninstall EAC, please let us know if everything works ok after uninstalling EAC 🙂

- Check out EA Background Service as part of the EA App. That thing runs full time, EA won’t tell us what it does, and it will even turn itself back on if you kill it in Task Manager. The only way to stop it is in Services. I’ve set it to manual so it starts when I start the EA App, but I have to manually turn it off. Frustrating.

Does this start when you launch the game, just fired up the PC and I do not have this service running?
If this is in fact the truth, I may be uninstalling BF2042 and EA APP.Found this so it might be OK.

- @sk1lld They posted that after a bunch of negative posts about it. Some were getting a performance hit from it although I never did. Others were getting increased network activity and for those on metered connections, it wasn’t a good thing. I like my computer programs to turn off when I turn them off. Did you know the EA App doesn’t turn off when you hit X? It only turns off when you physically right click and exit. Otherwise it just minimizes. It just bugs me is all.
I keep hoping to get confirmation about deleting EAC from a CM who checked with Dice so I stay on side. If I don’t need EAC and can delete it, so much the better. The new EA anti cheat seems to be contributing to the new freezing issues (supposition) so for now I’ll stand pat in case we need to revert back to Easy AC.
