- 3 years ago@DPsx7 Not everyone who turns on voice chat will actually be using a mic, as demonstrated by many other multiplayer titles that have VC on by default.
The main issue is that when voice chat is set to "off" you can't hear your teammates. So those of us on console that do use voice chat in-game for coordination (& dont have the ringing phones, pets, TV's, or heavy breathing) can't help/guide new players or remind new players that they need to ptfo, revive, etc. - AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@DPsx7 for ONCE - I agree with you.

I don't usually wear a headset or I'm in a party, but I'm quite happy with voice chat being off by default. I've heard enough arguing, munching, and general weirdness in the past from randoms.

I love voice chat when people actually use it
- 3 years ago@AOD_CapStar362 See? That didn't hurt. Now let's try for the rest?

I still think it should be on by default. It’s easier to mute if you don’t like what you hear.
As it is now you have to turn it on so you can communicate with other people and there is still the same amount of chance to hear all those things described above.
This game requires players to communicate to reach the full potential of fun in this game. Just mute those bad ones. Easy. The world is a better place when we laugh together.

its literally the easiest thing in the world to hit the mute button. Why stifle the many possible relationships that could form from people having mikes on because u couldn't be inconvenienced for 5 seconds to click the mute button.
- AOD_CapStar3623 years agoSeasoned Ace@Lancing975 i shouldnt have to be even bothered with that.

Nothing says fun like someone screaming in your ear to do something that want you to do while their dog is barking and they are listening to crappy pop music
- 3 years ago@Lancing975 I agree, that's why the feature was invented lol. It's not even just about someone using their mic, but when someone chooses not too, you'd still like to ask for help or give direction that they could hear. With the VOIP off by default, it sounds as if no one is ever using a mic
