Can we disable the ribbon notification taking over the top of the screen

The ribbon notification etc comes down and takes over the top 20% of the screen its so distracting, I cannot get used to it at all.

Can we have an option to turn it off, and also the annoying sector notification at the top off the screen. Can't believe some of the decisions in this game
