@AdamonicIm sure they think of something better than the current matchmaking system and I really hope that the Next Battlefield game has a server browser or at least map rotation because this matchmaking system is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I can't understand how if 2042 is "supposed to be the future of battlefield" then why would they revert a basic feature from past games to an early 2000s styled PS2/Xbox cod/halo matchmaking system. No game has used a system this horrible since online matchmaking debuted. And games that do have matchmaking at least have map vote and/or consistent servers.
Unfortunately, there are two huge limiting factors. One, is the use of virtual/cloud-based servers. Nothing is persistent, to squeeze every ounce of savings out of server hosting. This is also why they went with 45Hz servers vs 60Hz or even 120Hz. Cost savings, yet the performance hit is massive.
Two, the skill level of the developers is at an all-time low. This is evident by the shoddy work related to game performance. Two years post-launch and we have a polished terd biscuit with devs patting themselves on the back for making a game that does the bare minimum. In any other field outside politics, the entire crew from the top down would already be looking for other employment. Portal has a Server Browser, and it is super clunky, with very little customization or filtering. We had better options 15 years ago. That is an eternity in game development, yet here we are.

The funny thing is: when recently they took away the official 128 player mode, there was a player generated 128 player game in portal. It had a proper map rotation. It's still there in portal.
