Console only rooms
To whom it may concern,
In regards to Battlefield 2042 and cross platform play, there is a definate need for CONSOLE ONLY servers. Battlefield 2042 is a masterpiece of a game that I am finding harder and harder to play. Why? Because the majority of PC players cheat. In several published articles, polls have shown over and over again that anywhere between 55% and 70% of PC players run some sort of application in the background of any FPS (First Person Shooter) in order to give themselves an advantage. That number is considerably less, only 5% for all console players combined. My friends and I play every Thursday night, and without fail 90% of the games we participate in has someone on PC running an Aimbot or other augmentation. Unfortunately any attempts to control the use of these applications are met with considerable pushback from the developers of the programs.
Cheats are a mult-million dollar industry. Why? Because we live in society that preaches "Win at all costs!" I am 55 years old and have been playing video games the majority of my life. Sure, there were minor things console players could buy to try to give themselves an advantage, like Lag Switches, but these were mere annoyances and the players were usually blocked by most other players. But with the introduction of servers that could handle Cross Platform games, and can include PC players, the games have become increasingly full of cheaters.
I am sure that the developers are trying to come up with ways to detect and disqualify players who would run cheats to gain an edge due to their lack of actual talent, but your attempts are futile. So what is the easiest solution? Make servers that are "Console Only." (i.e. XBOX, Playstation, Nintendo...) You do know what kind of platform each player is running because you show a different symbol on the screen. By doing this you would effectively eliminate the majority of the cheaters and therefore increase the satifaction of the console gaming community. I know that I, and my Thursday night group would be quite satisfied.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully taking the actions nessesary to eradicate this plague that is making FPS gaming less enjoyable by the day.
