Console players - voice your opinion on crossplay with PC

So here's my opinion

For me it destroyed the game. I play old gen version on Xbox and its much funnier experience. I dont accuse PC players of cheating. Its quite rare. The problem is faster input device + better framerate. In many cases its more than 120fps.

So if there is no console only crossplay option (among others) I wont buy the next BF.

MnK on consoles? Okay but with PC. I want my console experience back! I'm used to play on controller.

Dont tell me there is no advantage for PC when I feel it. Old gen version is an easy mode in compare

There are low-life cheaters on both platforms, console and PC. I do not know what is being done to stop console cheaters, if anything at all. While it may not be perfect, at least EA has taken steps to stop cheaters on PC. The recent secure boot requirement is just another step in the right direction, although some on PC have complained about it. I'm all for doing whatever it takes to stop cheaters, as long as it doesn't cause the game to run poorly. But let's face it, there have always been cheaters, and there always will be, sadly.

  • As a PC player, I hate crossplay. It should absolutely be off by default.

The amount of aim assist given in 2042 is absurd, and it's that way because of crossplay. Dice are afraid of console players getting upset and not spending money on the game, so they just lazily over-tune the various assists. Like Doo-Doo-Draws said, I also see console players top fragging all the time. Even while playing on an OLED monitor, at 240hz, I'm dying to console players instantly. I know my reflexes aren't that slow by any means, but somehow I'm always dying to you guys in a single frame. Meanwhile, console players soak up 20 rounds before the game decides to apply the damage to them. It literally waits to see what the console player does, I swear it.

The networking between consoles and PC have never felt accurate in any online game. Crossplay is a trend that needs to go away across the board. Time for developers to give up on it already, it sucks.

  • Personally, I would prefer BF had NO cross-play with PC, and I'm a PC player with console friends. Cross-play causes too many network-related issues in 2042, making the game run poorly. Getting shot behind cover and input delay happens to me often. The more console players in the server, the worse the game runs, and it's frustrating. I certainly understand some want to play with their friends across all platforms, but if cross-play with PC causes the game to run this poorly, I don't want it. I absolutely hate it in 2042, and I just don't see it getting any better for BF6. Hopefully they prove me wrong, though.

There should be an advantage for PC players, especially in FPS games. We're playing with better hardware and better peripherals. I can tell you this much, I play 2042 often, and I see console players shredding in that game all the time. Either they have found the perfect God-Mode controller settings, or maybe they're cheating. Who knows. So, advantage or not, console players are capable in 2042.

Also, with console players having aim assist, less recoil, and snap aim, they basically have legalized cheats, and I am 100% against that type of nonsense being in FPS multiplayer games. No matter how strong or weak some claim it is, it should only exist between the console platforms using a controller. Shouldn't be allowed with cross-play against PC. If everybody believes in fair play, keep that type of lame BS out of the game. Look at COD and some of the other popular FPS games that have been ruined by aim assist. I truly worry that BF will end up being ruined the same way, and that would be a shame. That's why I feel the need to speak out when I see these posts.

And I hope you console players do get your wish and aren't forced to play against PC players. I prefer it that way, myself. 😁

that would amazing but the concern is that in less populated areas (populated of online gamers) it would kill the game faster. But they could easily merge all platforms if it was a concern at some point and absolutely needed. I just turned on the newly added console only crossplay in BO6 and guess what... its easier. Much easier tbh.

Battlefield 1 is still very much alive on all platforms. At least in Europe and North America. Much better experience on a controller for a casual like myself.

DICE, please merge XB and PS5. Letting console players with mnk on PC servers should not be a controversial thing for anyone I guess.

  • IMO, I favour two options:

    1. crossplay only between Consoles (PS + Xbox);
    2. crossplay with PC default off.

Well, in my opinion in most cases what console players view as cheating of PC players its not really cheating but superiority of mouse over controller especially in a game like BF where you have long distances. Of course there is a little bit of cheating here and there but you probably would not notice that when controller was as good in aiming as a PC mouse. Plus framerate... at the current time many PCs can do over 120fps in BF2042.

For me if they plan to make it input based matchmaking they need to lock framerate for controller matchmaking to match consoles. Leave it unlocked for mnk matchmaking if majority wants it.

  • Too many cheats on PC. Wallhacks and aimbots being the most common. PC crossplay brings those cheats into console games.
