Content has not 'Cross-Commerced'

I have purchased the Ultimate edition of BF2042 on my Xbox, allowing me access to a variety of cosmetics, as well as 1-week early access to the game. I have also purchased the game on my PC, however this time only the standard edition.

I thought I'd use EA play to trial it out on PC (Using EA play since the bonus of early access didn't transfer over), and upon loading up my game on PC, my stats have transferred but my ultimate edition cosmetics have not.

Now, it says online rather clearly that dlc items such as cosmetics that have been purchased will transfer between platforms, and since I have paid extra for this, I fail to understand why I cannot access the content on both platforms.

Oh, and add normal servers back. If you can do it for portal, do it for the main game. It feels like a demo otherwise.

  • This happened to me as well. Purchased ultimate on PS5 and bought also on Xbox series x as some of my friends still play on the One x. All content unlocked on the PS5 but not the Xbox series x. Highly disappointed

From what I've seen other people report, cross-progression and cross-commerce works like this. DICE advertised 2042 as having cross-commerce, but I'm pretty sure they false advertised when it comes to Battle Pass purchases.

Things that will transfer between platforms include:

    • You're soldier's experience points and rank will transfer.
    • Most unlocked items will transfer. Excluding Gold and Ultimate Edition bonus items, preorder items, and Battlepass. They won't transfer.

Things that won't tranfer between platforms include:

    • Game licenses, you will need to buy another copy of the game.
    • All Battle Passes, even the stand alone ones sold individually. You will need to buy another copy of this also.
    • Gold and Ultimate Edition bonus content items, preorder items and Battle Pass also don't transfer.

Is there any cosmetic items being sold for 2042 yet? At this point I'm still skeptical cosmetic items sold for money will transfer between platforms, despite EA explicitly stating they will. I know Sony charges game publishers a percentage for any cross-commerce cosmetics being sold. Sony gets their cut even if those cosmetics are sold on Xbox and Steam, based on the distribution of players per platform.
