I don't understand why console is the only one locked to controller. Couldn't there be lobbies exclusively for controller or mouse and keyboard no matter what the platform? On console you have to us...

I really don't think this will work, cross play is on by default because of the low player count. I doubt splitting up the player base even more will help with this.

Going to say that's not true. Season 0 had no cross play and been on apex before and after cross play was added. It wouldn't split anyone other that the people who don't care they are on controller and the people who want to try M&K without cheating/ paying out the * for a whole new PC.
Not to mention PC is its own lobbies of controller VS m&k so splitting the lobbies based of input type, seems to me like it would be easier to get a match since you're including PC and console, instead of the way it is now where you only get PC if you squad up with PC.
