Correcting BF - aka why do I think people are calling 2042 trash and what to do
If DICE solved the map design equation, made squads bigger and with proper management options, takeover, etc. and made some close quarters maps or more infantry-only choke points between sectors in current and future maps with better opportunities for LMGs and mêlée scenarios thst would be a great start.
Moving on to two more tricky predicaments here are some suggestions on the following:
Hazard Zone disinterest problem
If DICE made Hazard Zone more interesting and/or added a third standard gamemode like Titan-prototype mode or something interesting that isn't linear and that ties into the story nicely (that isn't a BR, maybe) that would be engaging. Make HZ more interesting and add a general quick play button thst could be either breakthrough or conquest or HZ to improve game mode likelihood would then help expose players who are afraid of HZ. Like me, lol.
1. I don't know what I'm doing. 2. I would play against just bots to get better and not waste peoples' time but idk if I can do that, (is HZ in portal?). 3. And also no vc for a squad focused game mode where you can only die twice is not good. (Introduce vc for Hazard Zone first, less players, should be easier to implement.)
Class system compromise
Mainly wanted to say I think some people will always say the game's trash because of the class system.
A good mitigation method at this point would be that the presets you can quickswap at the Angelstation or on redeploy should be renamable. What's the point of the class name if you can use a sniper and spawn beacon on an assault preset or an lmg and rpg on a sniper/recon preset?
You could limit or suggest loadout options when making presets for this ui.
Or at least we should be able to make two or three presets per class type. And ideally confer some class-specific ability for each preset class. Like sniper has a spotting monocular, etc.
Another idea is sniper clothing for snipers, etc., make the character dress like the class they are playing by limiting what skins can be selected.
Anyone want to weigh in on these issues?
