Cross Play with PC
I play on PS5 and I am just really struggling to enjoy Battlefield 2042 against and with PC players. Specifically speaking I am having a hard time dealing with people who play on keyboard and mouse. ...
Update. I think I am going to go back to battlefield 5 and battlefield 4. I have decided to give up on dealing with PC players. It is not fun and the playerbase is not big enough for console only lobbies. Is anybody else planning to do this? Or has already done this? I feel like I am really low on options here.
I play BF 2042 on both PC and Xbox Series X, and prefer Series X as it runs very smooth except for 128 player hourglass map. That said, aim assist is pretty weak on console although I think they tweaked it recently as I can now laser people with SMGs on console like PC and that was not the case a few months ago. At this point, I can't say I have a over-all advantage either way, although some things are better on PC and some are better on console. I do laugh though when PC players whine about "Console aimbots" as unlike many console games, BF has weak aim assist and will not pull off one player and start tracking another like other games tend to do. It does not track at all, although it might help open up the hit box, tracking is weak to none...
I have a theory about PC players. I think when someone is willing to spend $2000 to $4000 on a high end gaming PC versus a $300 to $500 console, that players would tend to be more serious hardcore type who would play more and probably have a higher probability of more natural reflex and tracking skills, which is what leads them to invest so much $$$ on a hobby (people excel in things an invest time in things that they are good at). Thus when console plays talk about getting thrashed by PC players, it may just simply be mega skilled rare players who invest more often in a PC gaming rig....
To be honest, if your really want to get better on console, invest in the best controller you can afford and play the smaller hardcore game modes in portal and get the pissss beat out of you on a nightly basis by better players and learn what guns they use, what tactics, movements, etc and over time you will "Get good"...
You have to do what makes you happy my guy. If its making you that unhappy go where you can get some enjoyment.
That being said, I'm seeing the seeds of PC fanboying from some comments. Not yours. I mean when someone theorized that spending more money on your plastic box equates to more player skill that took the cake right there. So I guess people like me, that own all of them (current models and a 3090), are the "most skilled" because I spent the most money?
So I am going to drop some money on another controller next month; according to internet logic the more I spend the more skilled I become. There's a spending scale that dictates your skill. LOL. That sounds more like a marketing ploy to increase sales than sound logic. I hear some of the strangest stuff online with people trying to covertly prop up their preferred plastic box to play on. I've already stated that its easier to "aim" with a mouse than it is with a controller.
It actually takes less skill. Couple that with hacks and mods on PC (a platform well known for cheating) and they should actually never lose a match. Hand the average PC player a controller and you'd think you were watching a child try to walk for the first time. They are literally terrible without that mouse crutch.
That will be all.
