Crossbow a gimmick?
Is it just me, or is the crossbow just too gimmicky a weapon? Feels like they could have given us a new LMG instead. I think the devs play too much CoD.

- @XSive_Drez I will admit it feels quite shallow when it is one half of the total weapons released/added for S1. I look at it as similar to the Phantom Bow in BF4, which in the right hands can be incredibly deadly, but no matter what, was still pretty much a meme to use.
- @Anobix Exactly. Maybe they should have waited until a later season to give us this. Especially since we've been starved of actual content for so long. Once we've gotten some decent weapons, then throw out the cheese.
- @XSive_Drez I mean, it's fine to include in this season as well... but with it being one of two guns is just sad lol.
- @Anobix It would have been fine if, as you said, it wasn't one of only two guns. Otherwise, give me something I'll actually use.
think it was a good addition because it feels super different compared to the other weapons. I've been having lots of fun with it - one of the hardest weapons to use but can be deadly if used properly (https://youtu.be/DZxLlAz5_WE)
- @Metal_Daryl97 Sure, but I'd rather have had it later rather than sooner. To me, it's just a niche weapon that won't see much use outside of initial acquisition. Although, I will admit, the explosive bolts are brutal lol
It's fairly functional once you get use to it. Had the best luck with the bolt rack at mid-long range as a faster GVT headshot machine. If you don't miss and it's not a crowd then standard for close. Explosive for catching folks dancing in/out of cover. G57 for close crowds and some luck to survive.
Pretty much dead vs anything with HoF unless you catch them off guard or they're secretly Stormtroopers.

Was the Phantom Bow a gimmick? Or indeed getting roadkills with the SUAV? Gas mask kills, Limpeting buildings full of enemies, dropping a vaj (bf5 call in bomb, sorry, we call it that), laying mines on the enemies runway.........

Alternate uses and, in the case of the last one, good stategy, doesn't make an item gimmicky. Makes the user creative.
Just because it's a gimmick doesn't imply it isn't fun to use.
