Crossbow a gimmick?
Is it just me, or is the crossbow just too gimmicky a weapon? Feels like they could have given us a new LMG instead. I think the devs play too much CoD.

Was the Phantom Bow a gimmick? Or indeed getting roadkills with the SUAV? Gas mask kills, Limpeting buildings full of enemies, dropping a vaj (bf5 call in bomb, sorry, we call it that), laying mines on the enemies runway.........
I respectfully disagree. These make the game fun.

@Prep768 how much of that functionality is in the new bow? I have seen explosive rounds but that's about it.
- @Adamonic Currently sitting on mastery 12 and managed to get the feel of the bow now. The explosive bolt is a ohk, which is fun, however only has a 10 bolt mag. The bolt rack has a reload penalty which obviously becomes an issue in cqc. My go to is the standard bolt, cobra grip and the maul hybrid 3x.
As a bf4 phan-ficionado I've always enjoyed not using the meta weapons. You obviously have to pick your battles with the bow, like any other weapon but the setup mentioned above does (imo) make it viable, and fun.
