Crossplay forced ON in Portal?

It looks so far that CrossPlay is forced ON for all portal servers! I have just gone through in details all notes and videos released from EA on the Portal.  And so far not a single indication that ...

    Darn @TrasteTh , you are back?!  😂🤣😂

    Yeah, you know me being an old weak console player, I need auto rotation, aim assist and all the help I can get to feel good in this game!

    But hey, look at my old k/d ratios, and you know I dont mind to lead from the front in the battle just to share some fun also with the k/d hungry m&k PC jockeys!  So look forward also to set up some insane all-welcomed-servers on the portal, where we can have loads of fun both together as well as on opposing teams!

    So prep yourself to be zapped with a blowtorch or defib and see me happy dancing around on your kill screen!  😀

    My own prioritized wish-list for the Portal:

    1. Ability to assign co-admins and we all can kick/ban cheaters/glitchers off
    2. Ability to set a max ping limit on the server
    3. Ability to see a full scoreboard, incl ping per player
    4. And then: the option to set restrictions on gameplay platform and input methodologies that can join server

I guess if it's not a server specific setting you can make, it'll most likely use the overall settings you have in the Battlefield menu where you can choose if you want Cross-play ON/OFF.

Cause i don't think they'll make it 3 seperate settings for Cross-play ON or OFF for all the 3 main parts. (All out Warfare, Hazard Zone, Portal) 

Will be more like one overall setting on this. 

Or in the worst case they just forgot to add this extra setting if it's not taking the overall setting on this. Then they have to fix that.

They can't just force you to use Cross-play on this.

Then honestly we are either heading for some trouble or EA just 'forgot' to add this feature in the server settings, despite it was probably one of the most intensely debated subjects since CrossPlay came up to be relevant for BF2042.

Because we will really have a serious problem now if you think its going to be depending on my own local setting, by which my subsequent Portal Server creations will follow.  Reason being:

  • I have "PlayStation Only" enforced.
  • I now create some great CQC  Portal servers for me and my fellow PlayStation players.
  • Now I seek next to have some good fun together with my friends playing on Xbox and/or PC and we decide to play on some vehicle intense maps, where controller vs m&k means less.
  • So I now change my setting from "PlayStation Only" to "CrossPlay ON".
  • Result would then be suddenly all my Portal Servers will shift also to all be "CrossPlay ON", which will infuriate all the players I have worked on to favorite my servers for great experience and no crossplay so far...

Trust you see now, why it has absolutely to be a server specific setting!? 

And it is also the only way a proper Server Browser can work within the game environment for players to browse all servers available, based on their server filter settings.  By querying the central server registry at EA and not having to run through what setting each server creator personally now has at that very moment...

    Hm, yeah that's right. 🤨

    Forgot about the fact that the server keeps being active as long as people play on it, so it would be also influenced if you leave it for playing other matches and change your overall Cross-play settings again.

    So there would be for sure some conflict to it.

    Seems they have to add it then for sure. 

    Cause no player would like to get forced to Cross-play at all.
