@OskooI_007 Its not that they embrace it, its they have no rules so publishers do as they please, Sony has rules.
@CyberDyme MS deal with EA is only marketing same with CoD and Sony. This is EA using Xbox users to prop up PC when the cheaters start same as all PC games.. There are many posts on reddit and on MS own forums about crossplay and as you can see they don't listen.
Shock horror sony allow it to be off - just shows how anti-consumer xbox platform really is
- @ragnarok013 How is it a bug when it tells you to turn it off you need to use the xbox settings? Its clear its not a bug it was done like the on purpose.
There is no bug guys this is designed this way to stop xbox user not having it off.

This is anti-consumer as this require a lot off effort for any gamer to turn it off. As it should be able to do so in the game setting like Playstation 4/5 can be.
Do your self a favoutr and either dont buy the xbox version or refund it if you can.
time to speak with our wallets now to show we wont put up with this at all.
Everyone just needs to take a step back and calm down, I'm sure Dice will get this sorted out.

I am mad right now!@Don_Mackos if it wasn't a bug the option wouldn't be in the Xbox UI because it would cause push back like we're currently seeing in this thread, and when I escalated the bug they would have told me it's not a bug instead the CMs sending it to the studio. I think we need to calm down and understand that historically launch day has had many unintended bugs. In fact that's why we have an entire forum section here https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/bd-p/battlefield-2042-bug-reports-en dedicated to reporting bugs.

- @Sci0n That doesn't have anything to do with MS. Halo has input based crossplay and from the game itself. I'm sure other games also have a crossplay toggle in game.
- @xXGugusseXx It has to be ea's play because that switch was basically functioning in the Oct's play test.
I've been trying to get this game to work FOR 2 DAYS, and have yet to be loaded into a multiplayer lobby. I go to the "waiting for players to join" screen and stay there until it kicks me back to the main menu. It will do this OVER AND OVER as many times as I let it. The only thing i've been able to do os play a solo game, and that's DEFINITELY NOT what I paid for! You better not even THINK about suggesting that I clear my cache!!!! You've got alot of nerve to charge these kinds of prices for a game that doesn't even work... Not to mention what I paid for the EA Play subscription. I believe i'll be demanding a FULL REFUND considering every dime spent was 100% WASTED
Same thing here. You on Xbox? If you go to Xbox.com and go to account history within 14 days you can request a refund. I’ve been posting and tweeting and emailing with no response since the 19th where I spent hours doing this cache bs etc. No answer from anyone
Yep. I'm on a One X, but I just got it to work about an hour after this post. I had to go and turn cross-play back on in my Xbox privacy settings
My issue: I've been trying to play breakthrough on BF2042 on my Series X with cross play turned off, and have legitimately never been able to find a game.
The map loads up and it's always "waiting for other players to join" and then it inevitably sends me back to the menu after a few minutes.of waiting around.
I checked my connection and power cycled my Xbox. Internet connection is 1000 Mbps download speed, 0% packet loss, 25 Ms latency, NAT is open.
I bought the ultimate edition of the game and have tried to join breakthrough games for over a week straight with 0 success. I've tried morning, afternoon, and night. I really don't have any idea why I haven't been able to join but it's really frustrating.
Any help or advice is appreciated!! Happy fragging to you all.
