But if Xbox offers a solution in the system options (while PS5 doesn't), Dice could remove this option from the game, forcing crossplay for a vast majority of players that will never find the deeply hidden system option, while at the same time being compliant for MS certification...
Reading the quote from Elenarie on resetera that @1Hairy-Gorilla found, they perfectly new that there was a third option for xbox (in game toggle, like PS5 and even like xbox during the beta), but they purposefully decided to remove it...
@xXGugusseXx> If not and if a crossplay off option is mandatory by platform holders, then they had to implement it in the game simply because there was no other choice.
Other studios develop and ship games with a game-built-in experience. So I don't think it's a hard requirement for Xbox... more of a choice of the dev studio...
Maybe EA Dice should team up with New World Interactive, who develops Insurgency Sandstorm, and:
- currently delivers a platform-only experience out of the box (PS4 and PS5 and Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X only)
- plans to build/deliver a cross-console experience (so all PS and all Xbox platforms)
- does not plan to extend cross-platform to PC players

@FrEaKCH82it's definitively not a hard requirement for xbox because it was there during the beta, and it's there for many games with crossplay. This really looks like Dice's decision to only allow crossplay from the system settings, and certainly a last minute one if the beta still had it in game while the build was just a couple months old.

Yet another day without any response from EA/Dice. *sigh*
