Day 2042 of asking DICE to SHUTDOWN middle-east server.

It's empty 24/7 maybe popular for 1 hour per week , you have the stats and numbers, we are already using VPN to play on EU server because you know we bought the game and we want to play a MP game vs real players, but we want to play without the extra steps and problems from VPNs.

I'm trying the server daily before using the VPN and it's either empty or have 2 players ( me and another player ) waiting all the way until the matchmaking stop the waiting queue and send us back to main menu.

I know server browser is the ultimate solution but it's seems that we'll not get it nor region select so the least you can do is shutdown dead servers and migrate us to EU server.

  • @Raptor_i81 Ok here we have some part of the problem. Not your fault - but long ranges vs vpn vs Europe servers vs low pingers is poisson for any server to handle !
Not rocket science but pure tcp/udp package travel. From A to B - distance and time ! No wonder this game is unplayable !
  • @Raptor_i81Sorry it’s hard to find populated severs, the ongoing issue is as the game dies and they force out of region to play together, then the high ping players gain an advantage as well as make the servers play like garbage. VPN use should not be allowed in multiplayer games, servers should have ping limiters, and they must correct their network compensation that allows this to even happen. The needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few… or the one. What you’re asking will negatively affect 63 (or 127) other players every time you play. I hold EA and Dice 100% responsible for these issues, don’t hate the player hate the game (and the companies who made it)
  • @Raptor_i81 Sorry my guy, but high ping abominations are the scourge of all previous Battlefields.
That server needs to stay up for as long as possible.

A better solution would be to base matchmaking off ping. Under 100 ping here you go, over 100 ping there you are, 200+ good luck lads but this ones for you.
Game stays populated and everyone gets an equal experience.

I understand you, high pingers will only drag the gameplay experience down but I think ping limit is a good solution, it's 100% better than broad VPN ban, I'm trying to stay within the fair limit, most of my play was under 90ms which the game consider it ok and doesn't give any warning signs, sometimes even below 80ms.

Just imagine; without VPN I wouldn't be able to play at all and it is something that should be announced as critical game requirement before release.

No one is playing there anyway, and I agree Ping limit is a good solution I'm playing within the acceptable limit ( below 90ms ) even when using a VPN.

You'd be best to ask EA. DICE is owned and operated by EA. Think of it this way, EA is the company, DICE is a department within that company. I heard EA gives their studios a lot of leeway though. But, with BF 2042 and EA pushing it out the door so fast I doubt it.

That's 5 years, 7 months, and a week ago? So you asked before the game was released?

@Raptor_i81 I think any gamer should be able to play the game they bought. I hope they can figure something that works out for everyone. Good luck.

@Raptor_i81 Is there anyway you could organise via Portal?
I know the lack of persistent servers makes this far harder, but does Battlefield Middle East have Discord/Facebook/Twitter etc groups?
There must be a sizeable chunk of lads that want to play, if you can spread the word on a time and server maybe you can fill it up and make it regular.
Starting your own community is actually really rewarding plus you'll end up having the best matches you've ever had.
