Dead at 5, 20 is a Chore
Basically, every match, I can get to five kills, and then its like everything goes into hard mode. Enemies suddenly don't die, or all get taken out by allies, and you get zapped. Every single time. T...
@Moab23What you are alluding to is DDA (Dynamic difficulty adjustment). To my knowledge DICE doesn't do any of this on a per-soldier basis. This is probably a side-effect of your playstyle and the burst of players racing for initial capture points with less situational awareness. Especially if you are starting rounds more often in a gunner position and able to pick off some easy ground targets during the intial chaos.
As an aside. The only form of DDA that Battlefield uses was introduced in BFV with the so-call "catch-up" mechanics. Where if a team had a significant ticket deficit, they would get increase vehicle spawn rates and also increase the flag capture rate multiplier for the team that was heavily struggling.
This was a stealth feature which DICE initially wouldn't even acknowledge existed. Eventually they were forced to admit they added it and provide some details, when some users had video proof with the flag capture rate increases being timed.
Most of the community did not appreciate this new feature and dice "softened" it. But it was never removed and still exists in BF2042. It's most noticable on breakthrough when a team is struggling to capture the first sector.
@DigitalHypeIt is this kinda stuff thats just wacky - all there is to it. I am no pc/console game guru just like I'm not a mechanic. Heres an example: when I take my car to the dealer to get fixed, if I notice something is "off" - man, some clarification would be nice. I may not know transmissions - but I know when my car does not seem to be shifting gears right. Does that make sense? BF 2042 is off. I have played enough FPS to know this. I am playing the new COD and it is not off. And that is w/r to all its funny quirks and arcade-like nonsense. Hard to believe but I rather play COD at this point. At least when I shoot someone I hit them and, golly gee, I kill them sometimes. This is unlike BF 2042 where some enemy players are literally bullet sponges and then turn around and "one-shot" me.
FWIW - I recently started playing BF2042 and did not know how bad the game was. I was playing RB6 quite a bit lately. However, after reading through some of the boards, playing the game myself, and asking some other folks, the game is off. The lack of players shows that as I am not the only one who feels this way. Please allude to my "transmission" example previously. I may not know video games but I have played enough to know something is not right. Again - I may not know transmissions but I do know when my car is not shifting gears right and I expect the dealer to fix the problem. Just some thoughts... 🙂
