We already have "attack" helicopters.
The minibird is also supposed to be a "transport" helicopter that carries troops to the flags so they can get OUT and cap the flag.
We all know how much of a "transport" this aircraft is.
The dev's know which category they have tried to slot these aircraft into but they just haven't configured them correctly so they they HAVE to be used to undertake the role they are meant to fill in the gameplay of BF2042.
They've tried to balance the gameplay with the roles that these aircraft are SUPPOSED to fill but by failing to configure them correctly these vehicles are not being used in the way they are designed to be used in order to create a "balanced" gameplay environment.
If you provide the means for them to be used as "attack" aircraft then clearly that's the way they are going to be used.
You need to "knobble" (look up the horse racing term if you are unfamiliar with it) these aircraft so that they are used for the "limited" role that they are intended for.
The "attack" helicopters should be the dominant force in the air.
They just aren't right now.

I don't even play anymore due to air superiority; DICE has always loved their vehicles too much. A nerf is needed but I doubt it will ever come. Until it comes, I will sit by the sidelines and read these forums and wait for what is desperately needed.

I completely agree.....the aircraft just farm infantry as the game stands currently because they don't fear other aircraft.
Jets should dominate helicopters,
Helicopters should dominate armour,
Armour should dominate infantry.
Infantry should be able to annoy (and occasionally destroy) each of these vehicles.
The whole balance of this game is off because the dev's have allowed far too much utility for each vehicle category.
Restrict the weapon loadouts so that the aircraft and vehicles have a SPECIFIC category of opposing vehicle/aircraft that they can dominate.
The whole "I can kill anything" approach has just led to a completely unbalanced and undefined state of play.
Create a flow chart.
Create a scale of dominant aircraft/vehicles.
Define the battlefield a bit more.
It's all a bit of a mess right now.

@Kaptyn027 Agreed and this isn't a new concept. They were close with other titles, why not emulate those? This plays back to my belief that the developer pushed this title to be something it's not, a BR clone of some other developer's title, but something caused them to go back, not want to miss a deadline and then put out this construct that's trying hard to be something it's not with half baked, at the last minute builds to put out a game on time...
