Jumped in a jet on BF4 for the first time for some years, and the breathing took me by surprise - I'd forgotten about it. It does affect the way you play doesn't it. Somehow feels much more vital. We talked on another thread about how cool it would be if all members of a vehicle automatically got their own voice channel. Would be also be cool if pilots on the same side were automatically connected. Flying is a lonely business in BF generally, and if you are like me I spend much of my time watching the sky for targets and neglect the ground more than I should do. Wouldn't it be great if you had a wing-man you could talk to.
@lzilchetlIt would be then cool if communications could be targeted by jamming, where you end up not seeing on minimap any friendlies or enemies, making communication difficult. Fake enemy positions near friendlies, especially with FF on, this would be so immersive.
Immersion like not having only shortest-range AA systems in the game at disposal. One could say oh but the maps need be bigger then. Id say they are big enough, its just the land movement that tends to be over the top.
I saw in the game there is going to be Ka-52. Is the gun able to lock target ? It does have a bit of left-right movement and a major downward movement freedom. Or is it going to be static ?
Are there going to be off-boresight infrared 'homers' ? Automatic countermeasures on missile launch ? I mean there are so many things that could be really well made with increased depth, non-linear mirror balance, to increase peoples understanding of RL systems in ways that dont mislead about principles of functioning of systems.
Personally Im looking at 2042 as an interesting project rather than about actual gameplay. I mean, if the forum was actually free and if there was actual dev communication, about what they do or hope to accomplish, it might even be personal, regardless of corpirate layer, which one could at least in theory ignore.
Without their communication, not even the formal 'We are happy/excited to...' it feels like no matter what you write, it doesnt matter because chances of implementation of any good idea or even getting recognized for it is pretty much nonexistent.
For example, you post some good ideas they might use, you even buy their thing, and you might even get some bans for stating 'wrong' white elephants in the room. The question that follows is, why help, since they 'know better'.
Anyway, game-wise I did see there were sort of ballistic missile strikes in bf 5, still, I wonder why are bf explosions so different-looking from RL-ones.
Look at the space rocket in the trailer. Compare it to all the space rockets there are like Russian, American, French, Chinese etc. Is it because they do not want graphical effects to be RL-like, or they cant do it ? It seems to me like the people making those effects never saw what they are describing or trying to emulate.
