We've adjusted the Transport helicopters in the last game update, and we have a change to the Stealth Helicopter 30mm currently scheduled for the next game update.
Feel free to share what else you think needs to be changed to improve your gameplay experience.

On reddit you "miss" the most upvoted comment while saying that there is a change to 30mm cannon. Lock ALL weapons in stealth including bombs and co-ppilot.

@LlamaWithKatanaNah dude... Then no one will use the stealth Heli. There's better changes than that, such as limiting the distance bombs can travel before exploding mid air and giving the flares to the Gunner. Reddit will always exaggerate imbalances beyond comprehension before considering potential ramifications in all other scenarios, such as the Stealth Heli's 1v1 potential against other Helis, you make its weapons useless in Stealth, people won't use it, because then the enemy Apaches will dominate them, simple.
- LlamaWithKatana3 years agoSeasoned Ace@S3SSioN_SoL Then leave stealth and fight back? RN bombs work in stealth which is purely vs ground. Vs other air vehicles it still have to leave stealth. So argument that it hinders in any way air vs air compatibilities is not valid at all. Maybe you engage vs air with bombs only then yes, it will affect performance. Otherwise it just will make it a little more fair for troops to fight back.

Maybe changing cooldowns could be useful and some of the splash of the 30mm, but to me the addition of the stealth completely overcast any reason at all to use the nightbird for several reasons - its speed and agility was changed at the same time as the launch unannounced (maybe unintended?), the damage that the stealth can do hugely overshadows the nightbird, and only being able to have one attack removes any reason to use it either in comparison.

I've been trying to counter the stealth helis with Rao because others have said it's possible to counter them with him, either I'm doing it wrong (definite possibility) or he really is the most useless specialist of the bunch (in my opinion, he IS useless) and there just doesn't seem much you can do to counter them with a half decent pilot at the controls.
I think when you use the laser-designator (SOFLAM) on them, then whether they are in stealth-mode or not, you should be able to target them.

Yes, give helicopters attrition. That's it.
Helicopters shouldn't be able to go through a whole breakthrough match simply popping flares, flying away, to then repair and wait for their short flare CD, an infinite amount of times, it's absurd.
Helicopters having attrition on flares would result in teams being able to eventually take down a helicopter that's been running rampant for a good period of time.
I personally wouldn't mind helicopters at all being powerful IF they could be taken down by a regular team, but right now flares are a major factor in making them overpowered by giving them such a strong and re-usable defensive action.
If attrition isn't added, simply increase the CD on flares, dramatically.

My prediction: they will reduce the rate of fire of the 30mm cannons slightly and maybe reduce the splash damage by 20%. But other than that, there will most likely not be any further changes.- 0_Katsui3 years agoSeasoned Ace
Surely they're going to make the 30mm overheat faster.
I'm imagining a comparison between it and the apache gunner seat.
- 3 years ago@Straatford87 What we need is the come back of Nightbird.
I mean fix the Nightbird setting flying and make it playable like before.
Problem isn't the 30mm, it's there are no vehicles available .- 3 years ago
People are complaining too much because they want to be able to kill an heli alone or don't be killed by something who need a team work or a minimum brain to avoid .
Helis still need to be powefull and scary.
Some pro pilots are good players and it's normal to have difficult to kill them because they are better player and have many hours of flying.
Rao can really making the flying more harder than what people thinking.
Just trying to fly and trying to be alive more than 5 mn is a competition .
Balance was ok before they remove the possibility to have more than 1 heli in the sky.
- RMEChief3 years agoLegend@shanatak you are correct about the helos should be seen as powerful and scary, however, the maps lack any type of ground cover on 85% of the map area while most of the objectives are wide open. Normally infantry would have some type of cover to conceal their location. That is just not possible in most cases.
Just like tanks, the first response should be to take cover, then engage when it is safe to do so. Right now the cover doesn't exist and helos can engage well outside the hacking range of Rao, which is shorter than the AA.
To me, there are easy fixes to helo balancing. Give both teams an equal number of vehicles and aircraft. Nerf 30mm dmg and splash on Stealth (or make it overheat quicker), make HE bomb cooldown longer, and allow armor piercing rounds to do minimal dmg and break stealth like the NTW.
For transports, make guns overheat quicker so the sustained dmg is not so heavy.
For Jets, if one is more maneuverable, the other should do more dps to balance it out.
Wildcat's AA missile range should be longer, and the turret speed should be faster. It should be better against air than it is against tanks.

—Remove the 30-50mm cannons from transports
-the flares should not have an extra 3 seconds of invincibility from lock on if the flares recover with 10 seconds.

@Straatford87Nerfing the 30 mm will not do much because the stealth helicopter will still be the no.1 helicopter all around by a large margin. The OP is mentioning Breakthrough, but the specific reason air is imbalanced on Breakthrough is due to defenders getting pretty much no air.
The stealth chopper is broken all around. The reason for that is because it has no counter while at the same time being a counter to everything else. Can deal with lock-on weapons, farms infantry, farms ground vehicles (including AA tanks), farms Apaches/Hokums, farms Nightbirds, farms jets and it may even farm Condors/Super Hinds if the gunners on these are average and the pilot + gunner of the stealth chopper are good.
Nerfing the 30 mm means they may not farm infantry that well, but they will probably still farm because the fact that it still counters everything else will remain intact, which means infantry will still need to deal with an almost unkillable chopper the entire game.
For this chopper to be balanced, there needs to be tradeoffs for its strengths. It can't have a hitbox almost as small as the Nightbird while having Apache/Hokum health. It can't have the ability to farm infantry like the Little Bird while being able to farm ground vehicles like an Apache/Hokum should (I say should because the Apache/Hokum are in such a bad state right now that they farm absolutely nothing) AND farm air vehicles like a jet should (same state as Apaches/Hokums).
It has a small hitbox and means to completely disregard lock-ons? Nerf its health. Is it supposed to be very good against ground targets? Then the gunner's HMG should not have almost the same DPS as an AA tank against air vehicles. These changes would probably help the stealth chopper to be brought more in line with the Little Bird (which means still powerful, but not broken; the Apaches/Hokums and jets are so weak right now that they can't even be a reference of a good balance state)- PartyFarter3 years agoSeasoned Ace
I thought this would be about the flying super tanks aka transport helis and people are talking about the glass cannon Stealth heli?
Personally I have no issues taking down stealth helis by simply just using the tools given to me. Transports on the other hand....lol
While I agree that helis are way to dominant in this game, the biggest issue are transports (and lack of infantry trying to shoot them down), not whatever you find in the attack category.
- 3 years ago@Straatford87 Adjusting the 30mm. Does no one at Dice play the game? The problem is that it's impossible to shot the God damn thing down as a foot soldier!

Enable SMAW in base game.
That will help taking down helicopters, stealth or not 😀
- X-Sunslayer-X3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Straatford87 maybe try speeding up your patch progress....
with how "fast" things are going currently you are really driving home the "everyone is still working on 2042" narrative - dirtytamato3 years agoSeasoned Veteran@Straatford87 Just add more air vehicles to be used at one time so that we can have dogfights like in all other bf and battlefront games. Not only would it be dope AF, but it will also get helis off of ground war

Glad the stealth chopper is being looked into though it'd be nice if more could be changed than just the weapons - Always found it odd you could get both stealth and flares
- UP_Hawxxeye3 years agoLegend@Straatford87 There seems to be a bug that that not unlock the airforce for the defenders in Breakthrough if they were playing from the start while people who joined on sector 2 and after can access them
- 3 years ago@Straatford87 - Decouple HE bombs from stealth and make it a selection in the secondary slot to be used in Attack Mode only
- Decouple both the Jets/Littlebirds from Attack Slot and give them their own slot
- 30mm should be on par with the Hokum (if not worse to balance out the firepower it can possess)
- Increase the amount of vehicles in Breakthrough for Defense and give them the same flexibility (slightly less than Attack but they get the same selection of categories, such as 1 Armored slot comparative to Attack having 2)
- Change the Repair on Stealth Helos, hitting the repair can repair the helicopter completely yet any other vehicle only gets 25-30% back
- Add an attrition system to repairing transports where overtime like bloom causes the repairs to get weaker as to stop repair spam on transport helos
- Splash Damage from all sources needs a rework entirely, currently nobody even really builds vehicles for vehicle/vehicle combat, most meta builds require you to run nothing but splash damage (HEAT, 60MM Flak, 60mm Mortar, 30mm, Rocket Pods)
