DICE please don't do this with the POST FX in this game aswell

Ever since battlefield 5 was released the image has been over sharpened, giving a somewhat unpleasant image at times and making the overall graphics a bit worse. Hopefully this won't happen in this game as well. If it will i think you guys should add a sharpening slider to the graphics menu, that way we could get the sharpening we want.

  • @klikard I am fairly sure sharpening adjust has been in the game for the past two or three titles. I am confident it will be in this one as well.

@carsono311There is no way to increase or reduce sharpening in previous titles, also it haven't been much of a problem either. They have simply done it too much and they should either take a look at their settings or give us a slider in the graphics settings. Some sharpening is completely fine but not if it's too much. I do get why they sharpen the image, it's mostlikley cause of TAA as that AA tends to blur the image a bit. TAA is a really great AA if it works greatly, some games look better than others and i'd say in battlefield it don't look that good especially considering vegetation and it's unnecessary oversharpen. Games like Read Dead Redemption and RainbowSix Siege have a TAA sharpen slider, sharpening at 0 gives a somewhat blurry image but it's a more smooth and pleasant image to view yet still pretty sharp and detailed.

@klikard I could not recall the post-process naming. That is the sharpening. Turn TAA up or down accordingly to increase / decrease the sharpening. I can assure you there has been post-process effects for previous titles, but NOT a dedicated sharpening slider, so you are correct there.

@carsono311Ah yes i see what you are talking about now. Ya in bf5 you have to turn TAA or Post fx or both to low to reduce sharpening, both of them do affect sharpening.

@klikard Yeah, I do wish it was more apparent / obvious, but it is not yet clear what they will do for this game.

@carsono311Hopefully they will add a sharpening slider or don't sharpen it too much, we'll see what happens in this game when it releases.
