"EA will be backfilling those servers with bots to keep games populated, the company confirms to The Verge, and there’s currently no plan to let you turn that off."

It may very well be the case, but until EA/DICE puts that into the notes, I don't rely on 3rd parties for info about any game.

The ability to turn off rollin with bots, is not an option is not in the notes from the devs.
I'm not the one saying there IS an option to roll without bots because mad magazine said so...I'm pointing out nothing in the game notes says 'zero option/tough s*', when it comes to bots. 🍺
I only hope that the matchmaking is competent enough to keep games full and not end up like Battlefield 5 where they simply stop adding new players to a server once it drops below a certain level. I would still much prefer no bots in multiplayer at all. If Dice Sweden isn't confident in the game's ability to retain 128 players on a server, they shouldn't be attempting 128 player servers in the first place.

They can't possibly be worse than the hundreds of blueberries I've seen doing nothing on the edge of the map, or any plethora of reasons there's simply horrible players that ignore the objective or seem to be playing a different game mode entirely. I have faith that at least bots will attempt to play the objective, and maybe even pay attention and act accordingly to a squad leaders direction. Yeah, that doesn't sound horrible to me.

Hahaha! Too true mate. After playing many hours of SWBF2, i was convinced the bots were the best team-mates, so i became one lol
