@emerson1975I used Boris turret in official TDM portal to simply cover my back blind side after I respawn as Dice places enemies behind you in 1-3 seconds after respawn in TDM...to make it more challenging...HA
I test ran Casper last night on official TDM hardcore and even though there is no radar HUD, Casper marks hundreds of players constantly without any skill or effort, and at least half the time the other side would quit because it is so easy to shoot drone market players out in the open and get them slaughtered by my team. Boris turret marks only ONE player, Casper drone is unlimited. I've never seen teams quit when I used a Boris turret. I placed first in TDM with zero kills one game, but more than 50 "Spot assists". What a joke as the drone requires you to camp under a bridge or in a bush and it instantly marks every player you fly over. The other team quit in mass as I'd drone mark them with Casper and they would get shot instantly out in the open. It was so easy it got boring so I switched to Sundance so I could superman fly into players and shoot them in the back, and then toss some super grenades once my clip ran dry and watch the rest flee in terror. But hey, at least I wasn't using a "Boris turret" that only marks a single player on the map...LOL
To be honest, TDM portal should remove all specialist abilities and just players use guns, grenades, and skill. No armor, no fantasy super powers, no gadgets....just guns. Instead, we get Battlefield/APEX with Mackay/Pathfinder shooting us from impossible high positions and other crazy Apex induced fantasy "SPECIALIST"...
Like I mentioned, at some point all 10 specialist will get nerfed into regular soldiers, and then we can have our legacy Battlefield back...of course who will be left playing in another 6 months???
So much here to respond too.
1. Turret used to highlight single enemy by making them glow all red, now it places a red dot above player head instead. You mean like the drone does?
2. Turret now locks onto players slower You mean when I turn a corner, I wont be at half health before I can determine what is shooting me?!?!?!
3. Turret now tracks players slower See above answer
4. Turret now shots fewer bullets after locking on, thus way less damage You mean YOU will have to kill me, not the AI?!?!?!
5. Turret can't kill a player unless they are already damaged now as second player lock on takes many seconds. You mean you have to play!?!?!
6. Turret green circle to improve performance has a much smaller diameter So I dont get tracked at 200 meters coming up a hill before I am visible?!
7. Turret bullet range has been significantly reduced You mean it cannot shoot me on top of a hill from a building 150 meters away?!?!?!
8. Turret player lock on range has been cut down to almost nothing You mean like the drones?
9. Turret is basically a pointing device as it is easier to look at the direction of turret locks on versus looking for red dots that require direct line of sight Huge advantage.
10. Turret can be exploded with half a clip of any gun now, or one shot from 50 cal versus the required two shots before 4.1 update. You mean I get to kill it before it kills me!?!?!?!
Essentially, Dev is making you play. Simply dropping AI and having it rack up kills from miles away was bogus. Seeing through walls, dropping the turret as when you die, not being able to destroy it with one clip pretty much made you have to do nothing to rack up kills. I cannot tell you how many times I enter a room and Boris is crouched in a corner behind his turret shield which ID'd me through a wall and all shots were on the turret and Boris just sat there letting it pwn me and shot me once to get the credit.
AI should be an adjunct, not be better then you.
