And now, for the rest of the story......
Turret should be removed from game in current useless state or modified into a paintball shooting device that splatters enemy soldiers in red paint as they do not have the ability to do damage anymore, let alone kill a player with even half health.
It is YOUR job to kill the player, not the turret. It pointed, shot and ID'd the player. If that is not enough for you to kill them, you should try another FPS
The fact that Boris turret could only mark one player at a time, and the Casper drone can mark a hundred of players a minute leads me to believe the Boris turret was nerfed into oblivion due to it killing new players who have limited movement ability.
Caspers drone is destroyed with 1 shot. Caspers drone is AA's. Caspers drone is marked with a red dot. Casper Drone does not have an infinite amount of ammo.
Plus Ji-Soo Paik can easily highlight a dozen players at once in bright red yet there is no turret to shoot at them, so it would seem a few players got upset because something not human killed them and Dice responded, yet again weird as the Ranger has five times the health and three times the firepower than the pre-nerf Boris turret. And if the Boris turret was so crazy over-powered, why so few Boris players with T1 skins, I've only seen a couple in hundreds of hours of gameplay...
You mean people got upset because you didnt have to play to get your ratings? IMAGINE THAT! Paik still has to kill you. Has to land all her shots before you. Has far less health then your turret did.
That said, I guess the good news is Dice has nerfed both Angel and Boris into oblivion and made them "normal soldiers", so now only eight more to go and we can have our legacy non-specialist Battlefield franchise back. So perhaps all the super nerfing is a grand master plan to give players what they wanted in the first place???
Your beef is you cannot drop AI and have it out perform players. Really!? Why are you even playing if you wish the game to play for you? No AI should be more powerful then the player. No unattended machine should operate on its own and you get credit simply because you dropped or summoned it.
Boris and Angel are still viable. Casper isnt. However, this is the third nerf of a "specialist". Further proof DICE wants VehicleField2042.
Once the nerf-a-thon starts, it never ends...your specialist is next, only a matter of time. And that will be a good thing as ApeX specialists should never have been placed inside a BF game. And now EA/Dice now have the "Battlefield Flop" (per Bloomberg front page news) $200 million hit to earnings in which Wall Street blamed BF "FLOP"....due to a game launched 6 months too early and Apex specialist that nobody really wanted...

@DeepSixxxx I assume you run Casper.
I used too.
I ran 5-6 games of TDM hardcore last night and the drone got shot down once, only because I took it down from 300 meters to 10 meters to mess with a few players inside a building.
Not sure I believe you because part of the nerf was a range nerf to 150 meters. Now if a patch put it back to 300, I am not aware.
Basically you can fly so high, nobody seems to see the drone or be able to shoot it.
I must be a marksman because I blow up about 3-4 drones a game. Also, they can be targeted by AA which wont miss.
And like I said, players quit as they got slaughtered and I've never seen that before. But hey, 50 assist kills and first place is better than an auto turret doing 30% damage on players with poor movements skillsets, right?
Oh a comparison! I am game. Drones do not kill. Someone else sees the red dot and kills them. Unlike the turret that lights em up and kills them. The drone takes 1 bullet to down. The Turret took more then one clip and probably kills you if you didnt duck and reload.
Once the nerf-a-thon starts, it never ends...your specialist is next, only a matter of time.
My specialist was first. Look for the thread What Did Casper do to You. I detail the nerfs there. Casper's abilities were far from OP. Yet the nerf hammer made him unplayable. His detection suit and cover is still good if youre sniping in a greenland area, but other then that, the drone isn't all that useful.
I played Casper for a week after the nerf. I kept track of what the changed did. Stats are in my thread. To synopsize, I played over 50+ games that week. 29% of my drones never achieve altitude because they were shot at take off. Now my stats differ then yours, but comparably, I played 10 times the games. That being said, both of our data is anecdotal to DICE.
I liked the game before they started making it VehicleField2042. As far as Angels armor nerfs, I classify those in the same category as Caspers. Over reaction to someone's whining. Capser or Angel were not OP or were imbalancing the game in any way. The turret nerf is a correction. AI should never be stronger then Player Base. Simply dropping something and it operating on its own capacity takes zero skill and a player is getting credited for something he is not personally operating. That would be like dropping a drone and it would fly around and blow things up without the operating doing anything.

@Padding_Ur_StatsSee lol your a tdm player that just consists of run around and shoot!
Breakthrough and conquest are not even remotely comparable but you wanted boris nerfed for the benefit of YOUR game not THE game!I remember playing killzone 2 with air sentry’s and stationary sentry’s and absolutely nobody complained because we realised this isn’t call of duty!
- 4 years ago@emerson1975 My opinion is, you should kill me, not pixels you drop and just run away from. That takes zero skill.

300 m? Think you are lying or just deluded because casper's drone has a max range of about 150 m. Also, unlike Boris sentry, you actually have to control the drone; if you leave drone somewhere it will only mark enemies that happen to be where the centre of drone vision is pointing, which is a small region. Sure, you might get tons of assists if you spend whole game just marking players - but that's obviously a good thing because you're helping your teammates. Casper's drone is fine.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Deluded probably, maybe even delusional at times but don't worry, it is completely legal in my state. Even so, think of a 3/4/5 right triangle. 150 m is not the limit of the distance one can spot players as you can be 150 m high but you do not have to be directly above the player, you can be another 100 m or more horizontally away form the player, so the player has to shoot further than 150 meters to destroy the drone. It is less than 300 m, more than 150 m...and good god I'm feeling the munchies right now...

I recently screenshot a TDM scorecard in which I got first place out of 32 players, with zero kills an 99 spot kill assists...and no, it was not a good thing IMHO. Zero kills and 99 spot kill assists using a Casper drone, and I've only used Casper for two nights yet I'm at T3 already. Basically our TDM team had been losing the match by 20 points early in game, so I drop Casper in an impossible to find location (every map has them), I don't move the entire game, I spotted 257 players according to the mastery T1/T5 counter, and get 99 spotting kill assists, and end up first place on the scoreboard out of 32 players after we win 200 to 108.
I stopped running Casper the next game as it was kind of insane and completely boring placing a red dot on 4-8 players at once, not even needing to pull a trigger like Rao, just "look" in the direction of the enemies and magic red light bulbs turn on and they get shot by 2-3 teammates almost instantly. In the end they literally were forced to crawl out of spawn as the Map was Renewal (open map). It felt dirty and very "automated" but I did take a shower soon afterwards and stopped using the Casper drone in TDM as it was kind of boring to be honest. Perhaps in AOW it is a better match, but in TDM it felt like cheating...
And to think the Boris turret marked a single player, perhaps 10-20 TOTAL during the entire game in TDM (not 257), and only marked them for Boris and not the entire 16 player team...I'd wager one Casper is worth 6-8 Boris players now and a lot of players will start playing Casper instead of Boris as the turret would be more useful now if it actually shot paintballs, no joke...
So ask yourself when the next patch Nerf-A-Thon hits your gaming machine, how could 99 spot assist KILLS in a 200 ticket TDM game be fair and balanced??? It would have been more balanced if Angel could drop armor at spawn for other players to escape the Casper drone without death, and Boris could drop a turret that could do actual damage at spawn to help his team get out of spawn before being slaughtered, but once the nerf-a-thon hits a few specialist, it has the "unintended consequence" of increasing the abilities of the non-nerfed specialists until they too are requested by players to be nerfed into oblivion...perpetual nerfing until the game becomes numb and boring, very common actually...
Yet is that a bad thing as basically what is happening is all the specialist are slowly being Nerfed into actual soldiers instead of APEX fantasy warriors. Only 5-6 more to nerf yet in the end, this could bring back the Battlefield legacy...TBD...-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In summary don't hate the player, hate the specialist...👿

The drone can be at a maximum distance of roughly 150 m from Casper and can only mark enemies that are within a distance of 100 m from it. So the 10-300 m story is bullcrap. Drones that are within a 100 m distance can be easily targeted by a plethora of antivehicle weapons or rifles if you have decent aim. Also, you seemed to have forgotten about the soflam, which actually has a range of 400 m - the drone is underpowered compared to the soflam (I do NOT think soflam needs a nerf tho).
Boring to spend entire game of tdm marking enemies? Who'd have thought?? If the enemy team you mentioned lost because of a drone marking them, they totally deserved it because of how easy it is to destroy the drone <100 m. Also, TDM is a shitshow is 2042, in part because of the crappy spawn system and number of players. Tweaks shouldn't be done with reference to performance in TDM, instead some things can be disabled specifically in TDM or at least their functionality reduced.
It doesn't make sense to compare Boris' sentry marking abilities with that of casper's drone. The sentry marks enemies in its viscinity, which is more than enough considering that it also wounds/kills enemies, making them significantly easier to kill. Your comparison would have made more sense if you could actually kill people with the drone ITSELF.
