So... I think this is the end of Battlefield? No more immersive battlefield just silly stuff?

All games going the same way.
I’m a hardcore gears of war player, of which used to be a dark, more mature game, that’s going completely the wrong way also with silly Fortnite emotes and skins.

I kinda expect a lot more DICE devs to leave in the future. I mean someone of them are probably fans of the franchise too and seeing it degrading that hard, probably pisses a few of them off as well. The management needs to be a given a reality check in form of slaps to the backhead.
I feel really sorry for the devs who have to work under such a disenchanted and ignorant management.
WW3 it is then.

First off I didn’t buy the game even though ive always played BF. If you take away the single player experience a lot of customers will not buy it. loved BF1 and BFV. I was hoping originally that BF2042 would just be a new story to get immersed into, upgrade to graphics, enemy AI, maybe some small innovative mechanics. EA dropped the ball. They are turning the more gritty mature FPS series that took time, skill, was bold, into a kid friendly pop it into the micro transaction oven glitchy operator mess. I don’t even recognize the series anymore. It’s so far from the core battlefield ID that made it a niche.
Customers already have many choices for arcade FPS. Battlefield always did well because it was a more realistic, cleaner (HUD), dark/gritty interpretation of war that appealed to a more mature audience.
This is what gamers want (pay attention devs of all studios)
We want choices.
We want gameplay setting sliders the same way settings like music, volume, sensitivity are adjustable.
If there is a choice give us the option to make it.Stop making very narrow restrictive gameplay choices.
Even physics sliders. Let us mess around with the different parameters of the game (non online) or change one or two and spend hours more in game after we’ve already beaten it.
Single Player games are far from dead. (See TLOU2,
RDR2, GOT, RE Village, Far Cry and a million more.)
Do not put out games without doing intensive testing before hand or delay the game we are happy to wait.
I hope that BF 2042 isn’t this year Cyberpunk but it’s looking this way. Give us the old BF. Stick to what makes this series unique, stick to the niche, ask for our feedback, listen to and apply what the community says.
It seems like a no brainer. Use forums that connect devs and gamers. Use questionnaires to gauge what the community wants and doesn’t in terms of new content or changes to the game. I want BF to succeed and I know a lot of work went into this game. There just needs to be a shift in the gaming industry as a whole in this direction.
