They have been radio silent for months now. With it so late in this game's lifecycle, they are just trying to get to the end of support with the least amount of effort.

It's not just about this game though. It's about the future as well. If we keep allowing companies to get away with manipulating networks in order to try and sell skins, battle passes, or for whatever reason, it only hurts us.
This has just been a trend I've seen developing for quite some time, and personally it ruins gaming for me. I don't want to be manipulated to buy more crap. Make a good game, continue to improve it and make it solid, and ONLY then will I spend money on your game.
