Yep, I'm not sure they understand how everyone's attention is going to fade away very soon.
They could easily make a news post saying they misjudged certain design decisions and were already reviewing them with community feedback, and that they were already working on bringing back certain features from previous games - scoreboard, voip, persistent servers and server browser for AOW / official portal servers.
If they made such a news post, re-enabled portal xp, and then provided a patch this week / next week with just a scoreboard and removing the end of round voice lines (ie scoreboard in place of voicelines), this game could be saved.
However, this game is dead if they don't make any announcements or if those announcements don't include the features a lot of people are begging for.
- 4 years ago@Ga-Knomboe_Boy how impatient are you? The majority of the team has been back in office for less than a week. They did a ton of great work and fixes before holiday to mitigate the worst issues.
I'm glad they appear to be taking time to reassess the future direction of the game. Decisions like this aren't made in a few days. You might not have this big update/apology/whatever you want for another few weeks.- Pekmez-Pita4 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Every storefront should be refunding customers who purchased Battlefield 2042. The game is severely broken and not fit for sale. They did it with Cyberjunk 247. This sorry excuse of a game is on par with that if not even worse when it comes to its technical state alone.
This radio silence is just adding insult to injury. Dice is definitely dead as far as i am concerned and i have been purchasing their titles since BF1942. That ends with this travesty of a game.
Anyway. I am attempting to get my refund from GMG. Wish me luck!
If that doesn't work? I'll attempt a charge back even if gets my GMG and Origin accounts banned because this crap is unacceptable!
- 4 years ago@SpudBug I've had probably 100 crashes.
Still get game breaking bugs regularly...
* I still once in a blue moon get the failure to load persistent data glitch ffs

- 4 years ago@Man_iLoveFishing Sure m8, it Is as you say, let's complain about everything and say the game is dead
- ATFGunr4 years agoLegend@SpudBug You’re right in that the dev team has been away and it’s unlikely any updates are coming. However, it’s not unreasonable to expect some comments or to hear from the devs. “We hear you and are working on the next update”… any kind of acknowledgment that the game is still causing performance issues for many and / or gameplay issues (still looking for server browser, scoreboard and VOIP there devs). Their message could lack substance but just show that they’re aware and working on it. Communication is cheap.

It seems that EA/DICE are in lockdown mode, I'm not saying that is the case, but it seems like it.
The silence is awkward and perhaps telling that there's an Elephant in the room.
Even Activision has been forthcoming to customers in recognising issues with COD.
Not a squeak from DICE.
Even the Battlefield subreddit has been given a cease and desist final notice.
Perhaps we're just too brutal?
