@FG44141 pretty much, but in a way that doesn't annoy people further. Here is a quick version of what I would post:
"Dear fans, the launch of BF2042 has been a wild one. We understand a large portion of you are not happy with the current state of the game and we wish to address your concerns honestly.
Since release we have experienced a significant decline in players. This situation was exasperated by a lack of communication over the Christmas break.
The development team has been reading and reviewing feedback and we realise we misjudged certain design choices. What happens in testing doesn't always represent how something will be accepted by the community. We apologise for not meeting our fans expectations and will endeavor to make all necessary changes to make this game worthy of the Battlefield name.
To this end we will be initiating changes immediately and over the coming weeks. These changes do not affect the core gameplay but should make your experience more enjoyable.
The first change will be re-enabling xp in portal mode for all custom game types, this has already been done as of this news post.
The second change will be implementation of the traditional in game and end of round scoreboard and removal of end of round voice lines. We hope to have this patched and out in the next couple of weeks.
After this we will be working on match making by adding a server browser for AoW and adding official portal servers to the portal server browser.
With this change servers will be persistent and before round lobbies will only exist when starting a new server.
Whilst we have lots of exciting content that we will be showing off in the coming weeks and months, the game will undergo significant changes design changes to existing content to bring it more in line with previous Battlefield games.
Right now, we want you, the fans to know, we hear you and we are working to deliver the game you want. Hope you are excited for the future, see you on the Battlefield"
