Figured out it would fit me better to make a new post. Here's my thought so far
But before that here's my opinion on each specialists
- Mackay - My go to for Assault guy although I usually forgot to use grappling hook
- Sundance - Their grenade is beast. Still learning how to use wingsuit effectively (or wish I can swap to just parachute)
- Dozer - Only use in specific situation. Wish he get something like bayonet charge but with his shield instead
- Boris - Rarely touch him
- Irish - Originally my go to Engineer even before I know what's APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel is or how it work. He really shine when I play Breakthrough (although I don't play it often)
- Lis - A new challenger for Engineer selection but I associate the ability to combat against vehicle to Assault more in this day
- Falck - My Medic and second in most play. Her specialty is not as good as Medic Pouch in old titles but ok
- Angel - My Support and first in most play. I never use in Loadout Crate call-in for some reason. He got nerf to be more in line with other which I agree (no more armor (aka quick heal) and his memes quote)
- Rao - Rarely touch him but he kinda annoying (on purpose) to play against
- Paik - The one that currently offend me the most. She's everywhere now with free wallhack that have no downside and playstyle that didn't fit my Recon ideal
- Casper - Only one that suit my Recon ideal. My choice when missions want me to spotting. Surprisingly come to my third place in my most play
Now let's go to my idea about class system based on what I already play since launch with a bit further touch up
My idea is based on Battlefield 1 and V since both are the game I spent a lot of time on it so I used to Assault, Medic, Support, Recon class but since we have Engineer in modern era instead of ditch one of the four, let's add the class to five! I also think about locking gadget to specific slot like Battlefield 3 and V (Launcher only available in gadget 1 slot for example) but since we only have 1 slot right now due to addition of specialty so I drop the idea
Assault
Specialists: Mackay, Sundance, Dozer...(maybe Lis can place here too)
Weapons: Assault Rifles
Gadgets: Recoilless M5, FXM-33 AA Missile, C5 Explosives
Grenade: Frag Grenade, Incendiary Grenade
Our frontline class that going against both infantry and vehicles like Battlefield 1 and V
Engineer
Specialists: Boris, Irish, Lis
Weapons: Submachine Guns, Shotguns
Gadgets: Repair Tool, Anti-Tank Mine, C5 Explosives
Grenade: EMP Grenade, Frag Grenade
Spin-off from Battlefield V's Support gadget 2 slot, They can fighting against vehicles too but not as aggressive as Assault. Their main purpose is Repair Tool to keep our vehicles going
Maybe we should make the driver of spawning vehicles (both air and ground) as Tanker and Pilot who share loadout with Engineer. I dig the idea of Tanker and Pilot especially from Battlefield 1 (I don't care about rendezook much tbh look cool but never see anyone doing it in my experience and I care what I see it everyday more)
*Note that Support always have Repair Tool as part of Fortifications system in Battlefield V is really genius and I strongly agree to Core Feedback post idea
Support - Medic
Specialist: Falck
Weapons: Submachine Guns, Shotguns
Gadgets: Medical Crate, Ammo Crate, Smoke Grenade Launcher
Grenade: Smoke Grenade, Incendiary Grenade
Our classic Medic with most element straight from Battlefield V. Why do we have Ammo Crate? because running with Syrette pistol and Medical Crate is like running with both Medical Pouch and Medical Crate
Support - Support
Specialist: Angel
Weapons: Light Machine Guns, Shotguns
Gadgets: Medical Crate, Ammo Crate, Smoke Grenade Launcher
Grenade: Smoke Grenade, Frag Grenade
Our Support guy from Battlefield V with shared element with Medic (end up almost the same with main different is weapons because I always feels like ammo guy need to go with LMG). In the end I think merging Medic and Support to one class may not be a bad idea with weapons being Light Machine Guns (like Bad Company 2 Medic)
Recon
Specialists: Rao, Paik, Casper
Weapons: Sniper Rifles, Designated Marksman Rifles, GVT 45-70, Ghostmaker R10
Gadgets: Insertion Beacon, SOFLAM, C5 Explosives
Grenade: Prox Sensor, EMP Grenade
For those who prefer precision and love to spotting enemy
IBA Armor Plate and Med Pen is all kits or remove from the All-Out Warfare as I can't find purpose to use
You may asking why I still lock weapon to class? I don't know tbh maybe I grown up with two previous games and it make me feels so wrong seeing Angel camping with sniper on Valparaiso lighthouse with infinite ammo or Paik going aggressive with SMG or Assault Rifles even the game recognize her as Recon
In the end I think Battlefield benefits from dividing stuff to division for rock/paper/scissors rather than current way that blur the line of many things
No idea on Mike and other Season 2 stuff yet as they're not available at the time I write
