DLC, DogTags & Easter Eggs

Content will be delivered like more modern games with weapons skins and maps released over time, probably as part of events. Maps will be free and most other content will be unlockable through play/events. Some cosmetics will likely be available to buy only or through season passes. It is unclear yet if the maps will be released in groups like BF5's pacific theater or if they will be released one at a time over time like most of the other Battlefield 5 maps.

Nothing absolute about dogtags but they made a big deal about being able to take enemy dog tags again so I would presume so.

Knifing and taking the dog tag animation was all in the initial BF2042 reveal trailer, remember?

Now in the latest reveal of the Hazard Zone, we had a knifing sequence.  But here now NO dog tags taken or animated.

And when we ourselves we did the knifing of an enemy in the Beta, there was no dog tags as part of the animation.

So not sure what we are to believe now on that...?

DLCs will obviously come, as EA will add more contents to the bare-bones launch version.

And also certain that we will get some Easter eggs to have fun with, once the programmers get a bit of spare time after getting it into launch condition and fixing the first line of game breaking bugs.

Battlefield would not be Battlefield without some Easter Eggs.  

@ragnarok013@CyberDyme @Noodlesocks  yup as far I know Battlefield won't be the same without dogtags 😛 And I have high hopes on getting to see easter eggs too. 

Easter Eggs don't need to be mentioned, they will be there.

We just have to find' em. 😉

Pretty sure they said on twitter that the player cards are the dogtags. Despite espinoza taking one in a melee anim in the trailer.

You can read about them in the progression blog, suggested some of the cosmetics for it may be linked to easter eggs aswell. Think there was some audio stuff in the beta too.

As EA referred to them being what would be shown to enemies on their killcams and not the classic dogtags we ran with previously...

And that special events would award the players with certain badges that could be shown on your own personal player card, per your own design/choosing.  OBS: the player card artwork in the background can only be selected from a collection that EA have already made available to us.  So it is not comparable to like the user created content we had previously with aka soldier/clan emblems etc...

Player Cards:

The badges you achieve can be utilized on your player card, which is something like your soldier avatar/business card for the game.

So quite some more info there about your soldier compared to in previous games.  Apart from all the stats like soldier level and gaming platform, then we can ourselves decide what artwork we want on the card and what special earned badges we want to display at the bottom there.  Your player card will be shown on the killcam to enemies when you kill them, so they will clearly be shown your stats.  The player card is also shown at game round scoreboards, so everybody can see the profile of the high scoring players in various aspects of the game.

EA also announced that there would be some 'special events and challenges' in the game in the months ahead, which also would unlock special 'collectables' in the game, which can be shown on your player card.  Aka Easter Eggs...
