I will not pre order will wait for release and then if ok find cheapest way to purchase the game to give DICE/EA as little money as possible.
If past form is anything to go by then they will put the next Battlefield game on sale at a reduced price over the Christmas period following launch. This happened with Star Wars Battlefront II due to poor sales following the messy launch with the loot crate fiasco, and then with Battlefield 2042. I was one of the chumps who pre-ordered BF2042 so I will be waiting until the Christmas sales before buying any future title. At least that will allow time to see how it is received by critics and players.
FWIW I have mostly enjoyed BF2042, even though it has been very frustrating at times. I first played on PS4 and did most of my progress there, until I was able to buy a PS5. But I've found the next-gen version much worse than the old-gen, mainly because the maps are way too big and because of Crossplay (I have no beef with PC players, it just isn't a level playing field). But Patches 1.1 and 1.2 have broken the game for me because the hitreg has become much worse, I can't get kills no matter how many rounds I get into an enemy. An FPS game where you can't get kills because of the system is no fun at all.
