Nope. Not for 2042, or any other BF titles from DICE. After the BFV debacle then this horrible product, I definitely don't have hope for this game making a meaningful turn around and quite frankly hope they aren't the ones to make the next BF title.

agreed April. April has to have new maps for me or its bye, bye. just bug fixes are no good. I feel sorry for those mugs who paid £100

There will be no new weapons, maps, etc until summer, assuming it doesn't get delayed like basically every patch so far... So 3+ months at the earliest.
- RMEChief4 years agoLegend@iDakkon unfortunately we are not getting ANY new content until Season 1.
Also, they already closed the map design feedback loop after one week. Now we will see if they can do anything in parallel.
Can they possibly open up another feedback thread before actually doing anything with the maps?
To me it would be wise to get all the feedback in before making ANY major changes because they are not independent of each other.- edgecrusherO04 years agoSeasoned Ace@Adamonic My favorite is that they're apparently JUST STARTING to read and process that feedback like...what? Why wasn't this an ongoing process while folks were posting? Why is everything delayed/late? Why can DICE only seem to do one thing at a time?
I'm genuinely blown away by any lack of urgency from DICE as this game continues to be a dumpster fire and the playerbase continues to shrink with each passing day.

Only way the Battlefield franchise is going to survive is if it is taken away from Dice Sweden. Their last 3 games have been considerable flops and they have proven themselves incompetent in games development.
I do not think 2042 is going to make a BF4 style comeback. They still retained a good deal of good faith from the community back then and thankfully Dice LA managed to salvage Dice Sweden's failure in time. However, that good faith is long gone after repeated failures from Dice Sweden and the game is devoid of the most basic features and of all the improvements that have been made to gameplay over the years. The level of work this game is going to require is exceptional and I suspect by the time it is in a good place, most players will already be fed up with Dice Sweden's nonsense and won't come back in any significant numbers.
Unless they commit their studio fully to developing this game over the next two years (at a minimum) with frequent fixes, balancing and content, this game is dead in the water.
- 4 years ago@Noodlesocks BF 1 was not a flop. Its actually quite good. You could argue BF 5 was the beginning of the end but 1 is solid. Still is.

@Buzzfunk Probably referring to Battlefront II?
I don't think BF V was even that bad, to be honest? The launch was rough, but it was fixed a lot faster than this game. They messed around with TTK stuff a little bit too much, I guess, but overall a pretty fun game. A big problem with it was missing content, which unfortunately is because they pulled people off it early to help out with this abomination.

"Their last 3 games have been considerable flops and they have proven themselves incompetent in games development." No sure I agree with this statement. I was not a fan of BF1, but many players were. I also believe BF1 was a financial success for EA. . I still play BFV. In many ways it is a great game. I only wish it was set in modern times.
BF0242 is exactly as you stated.

I have hope for the game. But we need smaller better maps and we need more maps and WAY more weapons
