Does anyone PTFO?

Barely anyone sets objectives. They should tie call ins to objective points. Kind of like bfv. Give some incentive to PTFO. Boost the squad play. Just my 2 cents.

@HJ_Spacewar People stopped setting objective when they got rid of the boosts for following orders and the lack of squad management.
  • my mates and i do but more often then not we are what seems to be the only 4ish people out of 60 who will bother and whenever that happens i go in chat type lost cause and leave.....
the power of "not my problem if my team wants to loose be my guest" is rather strong these days...
and i tend to quit once the pont of no return is reached i.E 250 ticket difference and no map control....

oh well there are other servers and i value my sanity higher then getting screwed over by unwilling participants

I feel ya. In BFV I would either gain squad leadership and use it or switch to a squad that PTFO. Now I switch squads but none of the other squads are setting objectives either. Any type of incentive could steer players back to the classic squad play. I guess it's just the 2042 way.

  • I think part of the problem is there's really no incentive whether you win or lose. Cap locations are just areas to find enemy units and fight.

@Karen0202 Exactly. Squad mates are simply moving spawn beacons. I was just surprised all the old school players don't set objectives. For me it's like second nature while playing.

Everyone is playing an objective "Thier Objective". Team play needs to be built into a game, rewards for staying with your squad and not running off randomly is one example. Tools to make it easier to, chose squads and not be stuck with a bunch of bush wookees for example. Ways to coordinate players.

There just not present in this game.

  • In these modern Facebook- and Twitter times, its all about me, me and myself first.

And the BF2042 super heros that all were initially intended for the BF Battle Royal showdown game mode are all there to support this narcistic behavior.

To change this, then the XP and rewards system in BF2042 needs a drastic overhaul, to properly reward team- and squad play and collaboration.

    E.g.:

    • To win the game round should be the major price.
    • To conquer objectives should be worthwhile for all within the range.
    • To set orders or to obey to them should be rewarded substantially.
    • To ask a mate for help or to help your friendlies in game should be compensated generously.

Get this in place and you will see a substantially different attitude from the vast majority of players.  The incentives should be there to drive this behavioral change.

Yes, I PTFO to the best of my abilities. It's how I have fun usually.

I honestly only play with 3-4 others over voice comms, so it gets discussed over discord where anyone is going. But in the very rare occasions that I play with randoms in a squad and RNG selects me as a squad leader I will mark objectives, but it never really matters most of the time.

Me too, for me that's what Battlefield is all about.
