@1Hairy-Gorilla yes, it would add some more hurdles for cheaters as the code stored in the TPM is unique. BUT there are ways to work around this, so its not 100%...
@F3NN3X Well to be fair the APU's in the Xbox and PS4 are uncracked 10 years later almost, if Microsoft is using the same tech I'd say its GG to cheaters.
@1Hairy-Gorillaif it only was that easy 😉 TPM is not a Microsoft technology, they just utilize something that is already there for better security... you can buy TPM modules on ebay and plug on your motherboard... so TPM alone cant be the "anti cheat" alone, but it could work together with other methods as a layer.
Microsoft is a member of the the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance who made the specifications for TPM. It's probably not the exact same tech as the consoles but that doesn't mean it is bad.
I have actually not heard of anyone hacking the TPM tech in a way that would impact the uses games studios might have so it could have its uses I'm guessing.
@CarbonicTPM is not really a "hackable" piece of hardware unless an attacker has physical access to it... It can certainly be worked around though. The latest revision is six years old now...
Some emerging threats are targeting firmware and BIOS, which can manifest before the MBR and active partition even come into play... however, I would be more worried about zero day attacks for Windows 11 before anything else! @TR-BatuhanKara
