DRAUGR is weak.

Im an avid jet player since bf2 and have always loved to fly instead of walk, i was very excited for the new bomber we are getting only to find myself quite unsure on what their idea was.
As of now everything that moves in the air will get a lock on sooner or later, It is IMPOSSIBLE to approach a battlefied with the bomber safely because of the lack of a valid countermeasure.
The first one you get is locked behind getting almost 500 kills (the cloaking device) which makes the very style of the stealth bomber they wanted to get quite unreachable to most and only obtainable after a fair share of hours.
Whats even worse is that the initial loadout that you need to farm with is atrocious.
It consists of a 20mm dual cannons (the only true blessing of this vehicle as theres no other way youll get kills) and an emp bomb that doest around 7 dmg on a direct hit but completely disables the vehicle (kinda lika when you are hacked).
Youll get really few chances to get close enough to infantry to safely shred them with the cannons and even if you manage to hit your bombs you still need someone else to finish the job quickly enough for you to get the assist. https://100001.onl/ 
Ive also tried forgetting all i know about jets playstyle and behave as a bomber would high in the sky providing support from afar and dipping immediately after... i guess it could work if the enemy pilots dont take a grudge on you (all it takes is a jet with heatseekers) but again, the unlockable that would make this gameplan truly shine is the JDAM which is locked behind 420 kills.
The second secondary weapon you get is an ATG missile which is allegedely "equipped with warheads to deliver devastating damage"... well that is a lie as it still takes 3 hits to fully destroy any ground vehicle that doesnt know how to use any defensive system. Lock on range is also standard so good luck with that pesky Anti air sitting at the edge of the map looking at you menacingly waiting for the second you step into their fuckyou range.
I'm about to unlock napalm bombs and i'll update with some thoughts on that if anyone wants.

I really see no way for any casual player to ever experience the stealth bomber experience they hyped us so much about and a truly hellish grind even for experienced players to get all the unlockables

    @Lady_One Yep I think they're right about it being a community one too.

    Not tested it myself as I've not got home yet, but I quickly built an experience on Portal to try replicating what's in the video (Rush, max players, 2042 vehicles, and PVP AI for something to shoot at). Assuming I've done it right, it should allow the Draugr on Rush - it's abs6du if you fancied seeing what it does.

    Hmm...apparently I have set something up incorrectly as it's not appearing despite being set. 

    Will try fiddling more if I'm allowed on the Xbox. I might also just be misunderstanding what it means by "progression required" - I assumed it mean players would need to have it unlocked but it could mean match progression (I literally only had 30 seconds to try it so just checked the initial spawn menu).

    Played a round of 128 Conquest on Renewal and the US Draugr was bombing the RUS spawn before we'd even got out of it - so doesn't have to be breakthrough to rack up huge kills in this thing.  So hard to get an AA lock as infantry too now.  By the time it's out of stealth and the lock on sequence starts - it's out of range before it locks.....

    @MADMAC50K I still wouldn't blame the Draugr inherently for that. Before the Draugr, people could jet ram into the enemy spawn and get just as many infantry kills... Because jets spawn and fly a bit sooner than infantry. Give infantry a more forward and spread out spawn during round start. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone, I don't like running when all the vehicles are full, so much so nowadays I tend to wait 30-60 or so seconds doing nothing during round start if I couldn't hop in a vehicle.

    My fav is hourglass-if i spawn in the draugr i usually fly low and sit back at spawn give it a min or so then head into the city and napalm E and F down that straight rinse and repeat.

    Kaleidoscope is another good map-Roof top E and A or any roof top to take out campers, and just weave in and out of buildings to avoid missile lock.

    But im a useless pilot so dont last long anyhow when being chased by a good pilot.

    The hit reg on the draugr is terrible though-i may feel 1/2 hits then just go red and die

    Needs Lil more HP in order to stop 2 aa from wildcat killing u outright. It is *. The lockon range is absurd for wildcat and its a very quick lockon so reaction time to use jammer isnt enough and to get out of range or go below radar with the 5s timer.  2 due and forget on you in a draugr is guaranteed to kill you.

    Nerf the * wildcat to be unable to shoot missiles if within their own deployment area forcing main guns only and stopping this wildcat base camping * * from farming kills. It's not balanced.

    Adjust balance based on old/ new gen/pc

    @wiccanring777The wildcat lockon range is 600m (in a sphere now). Generally, you can fly +-900m above ground level (you have an indicator for this on your HUD), unless the map is extremely vertical like Exposure where said HUD is borked, in which case you can fly low. You have a ground scan that tells you where ALL the wildcats are, that covers the entire map, and at least for now is more useful than the CIX Valravn which just makes you shimmer brightly. The scan sometimes bugs out, but for the most part wildcats won't move a lot.

    And you get a bomb that homes in on ground vehicles from any distance as long as you kinda aim in their general vicinity, and deals 85 damage to a wildcat on a direct hit (can still deal high amounts of splash damage even if it's smoked)

    While vehicles and infantry sitting at spawn in conquest are dumb and a problem... I don't see how they affect the Draugr.

    Me and another player from the platoon, used a Pondhawk and stingers to really torment the enemy Draugrs.

    Also it does not matter if it is out of  range after the first shot. This is  a team game and someone else in the team should had been ready to exploit the opening you created to finish the job. If not then you have pushed it away from where it wanted to be.

    The draugr in its current stage definitely put more value on the wildcat AA missiles than they used to have
