Thermal optics and point and click aiming that fast and quickly needs to stay out of battlefield. That just looks like someone with a cheat code tanking.
However 2042 tanks are too cumbersome when you need them to be agile and the first person zoomed in aim has awful lag compared to BFV in first person zoomed in aim mode.
And the acceleration speed from a standing start as well as chassis turn speeds at low KPMs is terrible in 2042 and contributes to a lot of deaths.
Once the tank picks up speed I find them to handle reasonably well, they have a really good sense of weight and you can weave in and around obstacles quite well. Reminds me of BC2 in that regard.
BF3 and BF4 new frostbite changes were not kind to how tanks handle and introduced the shaking on a pebble physics both games suffered from.
Firing from the tank in 3rd person is completely broke as you can see from my video below and I find 3rd person firing being essential a lot of the time due to trying to spot flying/grapple hook and parachuting enemies.
In the video I am simply moving the turret left or right but the close by tree pushes my cannon up when it moves past it.
This happens all over every map. You'll line up your shot, move it a few degrees and the cannon will flip up and your shell flies a few dozen feet above where you intended.
If you switch to first person the cannon no longer flips up in these scenarios.

@alucardgrFunny video, I completely agree with the disappointment. In BF4, tanks could break into the mix with infantry and chop from 10 frags without much bother. This greatly infuriated the infantry, but it was a drive!! In BF2042, now the infantry rejoices and mocks the tanks.
Don't care about the acceleration and rotation of the tower, give the thermal imager to the tank driver and machine gunner, as well as to the rest of the equipment, and perhaps we will have a chance to live longer.
I want to say that the weapons system of the tanks is not well thought out. You need to put STAF in an additional slot, since only a fool puts it in the main slot. As a result, STAF is not in demand in the game at all, a useless perk.
