@ATFGunrI enjoyed the Premium Pass way better than what we have currently.The guarantee of 4 new maps / weapons etc every 3 months really kept the games fresh, I would go back to premium in a heartbeat.

@Hudson1531Live service is awful, I’m a big fan of the DLC model where I get what I pay for and know what I’m getting. If he did play some, I’m sure it’s an early model and it’s no where near ready for release. Why am I sure? Because I played the beta for 2042 and played since release and it wasn’t ready either. It’s still not ready, it’s still massively broken in terms of connection and consistency. Like others said, I won’t be preordering either.

Funny how at least some people still seem to have trouble decoding corporate talk during those investors calls.In the secret manual for those occasions you can read:"what they showed and what we were able to play." use this to describe that you have seen a screen cap of the only alpha version stable enough to not crash after 2 seconds as well as some slides of early design concepts."Tremendous live service" use this phrase if you think you can get away selling the game with less content than the previous one by promising new content after launch, then being legally able to drip-feed the players some content (preferably telling them that reworking content available to them at launch counts as 'new content) while at the same time being able to stop said 'live service' at any point if you consider that a good idea.I must confess that I am not so sure if EA is at the moment still under the impression that they would be able to get for the next installment at least half the pre-order sales they had for BF2042.My assumption (sincere hope) is that the majority of the player base has learnt their lesson (and will be reminded again before the next one comes out by the content creators/BF influencers in case some have forgotten by then) and will not be swayed by the statements like these we had by Mr. Wilson now.

I'm glad he has played the new game, here's to hoping he likes playing it alone!

So- in summary- mandatory crossplay AND live-services will be back? Good to know I can fully check out of the next installment. At this point, just let the franchise “die” and reboot it in a few years with talent who actually knows what they’re doing. For god’s sake- 2042 as a “live-service” game had updates that substantially changed things like gunplay coming in the FINAL SEASON. This franchise is enshittification personified.

It always fascinates me how much any corporate statements resemble each other to the point where one cannot tell what product they are talking about.
I am not pre ordering this time. I will wait and see what people who are both positive biased, neutral or critical of the game will say. The last couple of games ended up going on a sale with a good discount within weeks of release, so why miss out on a price cut.
Of course I would be more than happy to pay the full price of the best edition if they finally get it right (by getting it right, I mean they have even make Enders be mostly positive about the game). The ball is on your side of the court dear DICE/EA.
To loosely quote Enders: The next game needs to be in an at least "Good" state from day 1. Otherwise it will lose most of its audience like the previous 2 games

Sounds familiar. I remember similar corpo rhetoric before the release of 2042. In fact has anyone checked it's not just a re-released statement from back then? Also, if EA's CEO thinks it's great, then that sounds like a good reason it will be terrible. The suits at the top only see $$ signs, and have no idea what a good game actually looks like. Based on how terrible 2042 has been, and the way DICE/EA have mostly completely ignored the playerbase, the next BF game will be the first in the franchise that I won't be pre-ordering...
